We’re back! Join us as we talk about one of the most difficult seasons we’ve gone through as a family. We discuss the process of grief & disappointment in God as well as the journey into the hope that lies ahead. Tune in &, as always, feel free to reach out - we’d love your feedback on this one!
Is it easier to be the preferred or the unpreferred parent? Listen in on a fun conversation between two frustrated parents sparked y a two-year-old's refusal to brush her teeth.. Our audio recording was a little wacky for this episode for some reason - sorry!
It took us a quite some time to get on the same page with this one (we probably should’ve recorded that conversation too 😅) but we still got some quality content for you! In light of the continued political tensions in our country that seem to constantly bleed into the Church, listen in as we speak on celebrating others & dealing with some things (or someone 😉) that may get in the way.
Episode 13
.
Listen in as we talk through a hilarious “accident” we had recently that led to our discovery of a potential correlation between capability and compassion. Are more capable people less compassionate and vice versa? Can a sigh have absolutely no negative emotion attached to it? Come join in our conversation and please let us know your thoughts!
Tune in for a light-hearted discussion on one of the things we clash most often about - technology! Is technology beneficial or detrimental to society? How much is too much? Would Jesus have an Instagram account? We’d love to hear your own thoughts! :)
Episode 11
.
We are back after our extended hiatus as we dealt with moving & getting somewhat settled into our new home! Listen in as we discuss some encouragements & warnings we feel on our hearts for the new year.
Where does Christianity fit into politics? Is it even supposed to? You don’t have to look very far to notice how torn the nation (& the Church) is with the Presidential elections coming up next month. Join us as we share (more like unload) some of the things that have been on our hearts regarding faith, the Church, & politics. We hope you will be both challenged & encouraged by the convictions shared in this conversation.
Practically every parent & leader is familiar with the concepts of challenge & support. Sit in on our conversation as we talk about natural inclinations, tensions, & recent revelations regarding this topic.
One of the biggest learning curves in any relationship may be communication between internal & external processors. Join us as we (virtually) hang out with our friends, David & Blair, who impart some wisdom from experience & share some great advice on how to better understand one another. Tune in, it’s a good one!
.
David & Blair are another powerhouse couple that we have the privilege to do life with. David is a Civil Engineer who also happens to be a worship leader & pastor. As if that weren’t enough, David is also responsible for the majority of the music that Lydia has publicly released to date! Blair is host to the When I Grow Up Podcast & also serves the same church David does as the Children’s Pastor. Together, they have some incredibly cute & intelligent children, Eli & Zoe (one of Maia’s future best friends ^^)
What's more important: Knowing Jesus or making Jesus known? Spending time with Him or serving Him? Sitting at His feet or testifying of what He's done? We chat about the benefits of both sides, the dangers of being one-sided, and the necessity for the Christian to do both well.
The topic of direct & indirect communication is not something that may come up very often in relationship talks but are often at the root of a lot of relational frustration. Join us as we talk with Josh & Eunji about what this might look like on a day to day & discuss potential resolutions.
.
Josh & Eunji, John's brother & sister-in-law, are new residents to GA. We are so thankful to have them close by! Josh is a civil engineer by degree & assistant project manager by trade. Eunji is a professional performing cellist who also has a passion for teaching music to learners of all ages (she offers both in-person & virtual lessons - reach out to us at buthoneypodcast@gmail.com if you'd like to get in touch with her)! Together, they are amazing parents to the most adorable Phoebe & are 9 months preggo with their second daughter!
We went to church with this week’s episode: Are Christians called to speak truth or be loving? Do the 2 have to be diametrically opposed? Tune in to find out what we think!
Spenders & savers often have a difficult time understanding & appreciating the other. We chat with our friends David & Shirley about how they (& anyone) can make it work!
.
David & Shirley both are some of the most multitalented people we know. David is a supply chain consulting manager by day while also being a published author & one of my favorite podcasters. Shirley is a civil engineer by day while also starting her own boba pop-up (for now :D), Softea, & being an incredible woodworker … just for fun. They do all of that while being awesome parents to their cutie pie daughter, Aisley.
One particular point of tension in our marriage has been our differences as a thinker (John) & feeler (Lydia). Join us as we talk about what those conflicts may look like & how we address them. As always, let us know what you think! (Or feel...)
Lydia & I chit the chat about our heart & hopes for BHP.
