This week the gang BEGINS! It’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre round 2 with the Platinum Dudes!   The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is a 2006 American horror slasher film and a prequel movie to the 2003 film. The sixth installment in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, it was written by Sheldon Turner from a story by Turner and David J. Schow, directed by Jonathan Liebesman and co-produced by Kim Henkel and Tobe Hooper (co-creators of the original 1974 film). The film's story takes place four years before its predecessor. It stars Jordana Brewster, Diora Baird, Taylor Handley, Matt Bomer and R. Lee Ermey. Originally, the film had the subtitle The Origin. New Line Cinema had to pay $3.1 million more than expected in order to keep the rights to the franchise after Dimension Films made a large offer to buy it.[3] The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was released in North America on October 6, 2006. The film received negative reviews from critics and grossed $51.8 million on a budget of $16 million.

Join the PDs as they venture into a BRAND NEW mini-series on the films of Platinum Dunes, beginning with the 2003 horror remake of Tobe Hooper's classic THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE! LET THE BAYHEM BEGIN!   The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 2003 American slasher film directed by Marcus Nispel (in his feature directorial debut), written by Scott Kosar, and starring Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leerhsen, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour, and R. Several crew members of the original film were involved with the project: Hooper and writer Kim Henkel served as co-producers, Daniel Pearl returned as cinematographer, and John Larroquette reprised his voice narration for the opening intertitles.

The Bummer Boys take a trip back to the 90's to crack codes and embue porcelain dolls with vape clouds. Thats right! This week they cover the highly anticipated horror thriller movie LONGLEGS! Hail Nicolas Cage!   Longlegs is a 2024 American horror thriller film written and directed by Osgood Perkins. It stars Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, who also produced the film through his Saturn Films production company. The cast also features Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Michelle Choi-Lee, Dakota Daulby, and Kiernan Shipka in supporting roles. The film follows an FBI agent tasked with tracking down an occultist serial killer responsible for murdering multiple families throughout the state of Oregon, without having been physically present in the crimes. Longlegs was released in the United States by Neon on July 12, 2024. It received acclaim from critics and grossed $74 million worldwide.

When Finney encounters a mystical black rotary phone in captivity, he uses it to plot his escape by communicating with the ghosts of The Grabber's slain victims. Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and James Ransone also feature in the principal cast. Derrickson and Cargill produced The Black Phone in association with Blumhouse Productions CEO Jason Blum. Universal Pictures oversaw the film's commercial distribution, and funding was sourced through a Universal–Blumhouse co-production pact and tax subsidies from the North Carolina state government.

A sequel to The Purge and the second installment in the Purge franchise, the film stars Frank Grillo, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez, and Michael K. Williams. Edwin Hodge reprised his role from the first film. It was released worldwide on July 18, 2014. In a dystopian United States, ruled by a totalitarian government known as the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA), is preparing for the annual Purge, a 12-hour event that legalizes all crimes without authorities. However, an anti-Purge resistance group opposes the NFFA and the Purge.

The film stars Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Adelaide Kane, and Max Burkholder as members of a wealthy family who find themselves endangered by a gang of murderers during the annual Purge, a night during which all crime, including murder, is temporarily legal. The Purge premiered at the Stanley Film Festival on May 7, 2013, and Universal Pictures theatrically released it in the United States on June 7, 2013. The film grossed $91 million against a $3 million budget.

The Bummer Boys dread The Town That Dreaded Sundown in this week's episode as they tackle the slasher movie's 1976 and 2014 versions. Is his name Bag Head? What in the world is with the slapstick humor in the original horror slasher film? Does the new reimagining of the source material redeem the franchise? What sort of influence did Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story have on the small town of Texarkana, and its stories true crime roots? Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon in his feature-length directorial debut, the film was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and produced by Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy. The film stars Addison Timlin, Travis Tope, Spencer Treat Clark, Veronica Cartwright and Gary Cole and was one of the last films of Ed Lauter and Edward Herrmann before their deaths in October 2013 and December 2014, respectively.[3][4][5]

The Bummer Boys are back in the trenches covering absolute Blumhouse horror movie trash. How can such a good cast and an arguably decent director create such a disaster of a movie? What is the nature of the red room? Does this mean Harry Potter is a demon? Why did Ed and Loraine Warren never investigate that little slippery wizard? WHY, OH WHY, would anyone attempt to make this movie a meta sequel to The Amityville Horror (1979)? All this and more on this week’s episode as they delve into the 2017 Blumhouse horror movie AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING!   Amityville: The Awakening is a 2017 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Franck Khalfoun and starring Bella Thorne, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan, Mckenna Grace, Thomas Mann, Taylor Spreitler, Jennifer Morrison, and Kurtwood Smith. It is the tenth installment of the Amityville film series and a direct sequel/metafilm taking place in the "real world" outside of the continuity of the series which establishes The Amityville Horror (1979), the sequels from 1982 to 1996, and the 2005 remake of the original film as fiction. Its plot follows a teenager who moves into 112 Ocean Avenue with her family, who shortly find themselves haunted by a demonic entity using her brain-dead twin brother's body as a vessel. Originally titled Amityville: The Lost Tapes, it was announced in May 2011, and was initially conceived as a found footage-style film and a separate entry in the franchise. However, the studio abandoned the film's original idea, and hired Khalfoun to write and direct a new draft in early-2012. Filmed in 2014, the film suffered numerous release delays before finally being released for free on Google Play on October 12, 2017.

The Bummer Boys get invisible with returning guest Bridget Callahan! Thank God there's a fresh perspective on this one, as this episode has been a long time coming. They discuss the 2020 universal monster horror movie INVISIBLE MAN, which covers the serious subjects of gaslighting, domestic abuse, and sock laundry!  The Invisible Man is a 2020 science fiction horror film written and directed by Leigh Whannell. It is based on H. G. Wells's 1897 novel of the same name and a reboot of the 1933 film of the same name. It is the seventh installment in The Invisible Man franchise. It stars Elisabeth Moss as a woman who believes she is being stalked and gaslit by her ex-boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) after he acquires the ability to become invisible. Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, and Michael Dorman appear in supporting roles.

The Bummer Boys sit down with late-night talk show host Jack Delroy as they spew nonsense and black goo all over the captive listening audience. That’s right! This week, the degenerates are diving into the 2024 Shudder horror movie release LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL! Oh, the Horror!   Late Night with the Devil is a 2023 supernatural horror film written, directed, and edited by Colin and Cameron Cairnes. It stars David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, Ian Bliss, Fayssal Bazzi, Ingrid Torelli, Rhys Auteri, Georgina Haig, and Josh Quong Tart. Incorporating elements of documentary filmmaking and found footage, the film follows the events of a late-night talk show episode aired on the night of Halloween 1977, during which the host attempts to boost ratings by inviting an allegedly possessed girl onto the show. An international co-production of Australia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates,[3] Late Night with the Devil had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) on 10 March 2023. It received positive reviews from critics,[4][5] garnering praise for its performances, production design, and technical aspects, though the revelation that it utilized AI-generated art in three briefly featured still images received criticism. It was released theatrically in the United States on 22 March 2024 by IFC Films and in Australia on 11 April, grossing $11 million.[6] The film became available for streaming on Shudder on 19 April.[7]      

The Bummer Boys round out their two-park retrospective on the M. Night Shyamalan horror superhero comic book movies Split and Glass, and this time, THEY GLASSIN'! Everything is talked about, from the hype of the film to the disappointment in Philadelphia's infrastructure. Team potholes for life!    Glass is a 2019 superhero film[7] written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, who also produced with Jason Blum, Marc Bienstock, and Ashwin Rajan. The film is a crossover and sequel to Shyamalan's previous films Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016) and the third and final installment in the Unbreakable trilogy.[8] Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard reprise their Unbreakable roles, while James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy return as their Split characters,[9] with Sarah Paulson, Adam David Thompson, and Luke Kirby joining the cast. The film sees David Dunn / The Overseer as he and Kevin Wendell Crumb / The Horde are captured and placed in a psychiatric facility with Elijah Price / Mr. Glass, where they contemplate the authenticity of their superhuman powers.

The Bummer Boys have 23 distinctive personalities… and there’s about to be… A BUNCH OF TERRIBLE JOKES! They slink into a subterranean lair beneath a zoo to discuss the 2016 M. Night Shyamalan sci-fi horror thriller movie SPLIT! SPOILERS ABOUND! WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!   Split is a 2016 American psychological thriller film written, directed and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, and starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Betty Buckley. The film follows a man with dissociative identity disorder who kidnaps and imprisons three teenage girls in an isolated underground facility.

As the gang enters THE COLOR to discuss the trippy cosmic horror scary movie Color Out of Space! Who will survive? And what non-corporeal form will be left of them?!    Color Out of Space is a 2019 American science fiction Lovecraftian horror[8] film directed and co-written by Richard Stanley, based on the short story "The Colour Out of Space" by H. P. Lovecraft. It stars Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Elliot Knight, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Q'orianka Kilcher and Tommy Chong. This is Stanley's first feature film since his firing from The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996).[9] According to Stanley, it is the first film in a trilogy of Lovecraft adaptations, which he hopes to continue with an adaptation of "The Dunwich Horror".[10]

The gang gathers in the non descript basement of a sad old veternairy technician to discuss the 2019 Blumhouse horror thriller movie MA! Join them as they strap on their dog collars and light fire to the bottom floor of their sanity!   Ma is a 2019 American psychological horror film, co-produced and directed by Tate Taylor. It stars Octavia Spencer, Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, Gianni Paolo, McKaley Miller and Luke Evans and follows a group of teenagers who befriend a lonely middle-aged woman. She lets them party in her basement, and they end up being terrorized by her.[2] The film was produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions company, along with Tate Taylor and John Norris.[3]

WADLOW! WADLOW! WADLOW! WADLOW! Thats right! strap in as the gang brings their Jeff Wadlow Blumhouse horror movie trilogy to a close! He did it! They cover everything from the atrocious representation of mental illness and the problems therein, to the fact that Wadlow is seemingly coming into his own as a filmaker. Strap in and prepare your imagination for this weeks episode of BUMMER HOUSE!   Imaginary is a 2024 American supernatural horror film directed and produced by Jeff Wadlow and written by Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland. It is co-produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner and Tower of Babble. The film stars DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Matthew Sato, Veronica Falcón, and Betty Buckley. In the film, a young woman returns to her childhood home only to discover her stepdaughter's imaginary friend, Chauncey, truly exists, and is upset with the woman.  

GIVE HIM ALL THE AWARDS! This week the gang has their breath taken away by the black hole that is Kyle Gallner's charisma in the 2023 psychological thriller horror movie THE PASSENGER! The film stars Kyle Gallner and Johnny Berchtold. Jason Blum serves as an executive producer through his Blumhouse Television banner.[2][3] The film was released digitally by MGM+ on August 4, 2023, to positive reviews.

THE GANG GETS META! This week the bummer boys round out their two part early 2000s slasher revival retrospective with the hilariously wonderful and awful horror movie sequel URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT! can a movie honestly be critiqued when it has already critiqued itself? Why is the killer wearing a fencing mask? For goodness sake is bad acting actually bad when its so bad its good? IS SCOTT DERICKSON A GENIUS? All this and more on this week's episode of BUMMER HOUSE! Strap in and take a steam-powered roller coaster ride with the two dim whits.   Urban Legends: Final Cut (also known as Urban Legends 2: Final Cut or simply Urban Legend 2) is a 2000 slasher film directed by John Ottman in his directorial debut, and starring Jennifer Morrison, Matthew Davis, Hart Bochner, Joseph Lawrence, Anthony Anderson, and Loretta Devine. In addition to directing, Ottman also edited the film and composed its score. A sequel to Urban Legend (1998), it is the second installment in the Urban Legend film series. It follows a film student being stalked by a serial killer in a fencing mask, who begins murdering the crew members of her thesis film about urban legends. Filmed in late 1999, Urban Legends: Final Cut was released in the United States on September 22, 2000 by Columbia Pictures. Although it made only roughly half of its predecessor's gross, it was still successful, grossing $38.6 million on a budget of $14 million. The film was universally panned by critics upon release, and was followed by the direct-to-video sequel Urban Legends: Bloody Mary in 2005.
