Keter represents the faculty of the mind that organizes and settles thoughts, creating an inner boundary that allows balanced spiritual growth. True growth comes from combining emunah and da’at, faith and intellect, to build proper spiritual and mental boundaries that prevent overextension in divine pursuit. Happiness and joy are the key forces that connect a person to Keter, the source of all joy, and even “fake Simcha” can serve as a bridge to reach genuine happiness in serving Hashem. Performing mitzvot with Simcha, no matter how small, opens the path to Simchat Olam—the complete and eternal joy. Every person’s mechitzah, or spiritual boundary, develops according to their level, protecting them while enabling progress. Those with restless or racing minds, such as individuals with ADHD, can strengthen their spiritual balance by focusing on Torah study that suits their mental rhythm, such as Midrash, which broadens understanding without overwhelming detail. The incense offering in the Torah serves as a metaphor for this process—its dual function of entering the Holy of Holies and stopping plagues reflects how inner order, faith, and joy together create a sanctuary for divine connection within the mind.

THIS CLASS IS SPONSORED BY: NESIYA TOVA TRAVEL - UMANMAY HE MERIT TO LIVE LIFE WITH SMILES AND LAUGHTER, AND TO BE IN UMAN FOR ROSH HASHANAH. MAY HE ALSO MERIT TO FIND HIS TRUE AND FAITHFUL ZIVUG, AMEN.Rebbe Nachman’s teachings were explored through Reb Noson’s letters, emphasizing the timeless and universal relevance of their wisdom despite being written as private correspondence. The letters reveal the depth of transmission between Rebbe Nachman and Reb Noson, demonstrating how each teaching contains guidance for all generations. The discussion also examined the lives of various Breslov figures such as Reb Yitzhak, Reb Efraim son of Reb Naftali, and Rav Shimshon, each embodying distinct paths in serving Hashem—whether through business, solitude, or scholarship—reflecting the diversity of avodat Hashem within Breslov. This led to reflection on the different types of Tzadikim in every generation, from Moshe, Avraham, and Yaakov to Rebbe Nachman, each revealing a unique aspect of divine service. Emphasis was placed on the importance of seeking a deeper personal connection to Rebbe Nachman’s teachings, visiting the graves of Tzadikim such as Reb Noson and Rebbe Nachman for spiritual renewal, and recognizing how true faith expresses itself through varied personalities and ways of living, all unified in the pursuit of closeness to the Infinite Light.Help support Breslov Therapy:

In Parshat Lech Lecha, Avraham Avinu is sent by Hashem to “go forth” — to ascend spiritually by journeying through life’s challenges with joy. Each of Avraham’s tests reveals the secret of the Heichal HaTemurot, the Chamber of Exchanges, where holiness is trapped within impurity and must be redeemed through faith and simcha. His descent to Egypt, his rescue of Lot, and even the birth of Ishmael all serve to extract holy sparks concealed in darkness. By facing every test with courage and positivity, Avraham transforms descent into ascent, revealing that joy itself is the key to reclaiming holiness. When he receives the letter hei — symbolizing the five voices of joy — his name becomes Avraham, the man who conquered fear with simcha. His life teaches that through happiness, we can overcome confusion, extract the good within every challenge, and reach our true spiritual potential.Help support Breslov Therapy:

Rebbe Nachman’s teachings emphasize the centrality of Simcha as the key to overcoming external challenges and achieving personal and collective redemption. Maintaining joy despite adversity expands consciousness and aligns one with the Divine will. This is deepened through constant engagement with Torah and the wisdom of the Tzadikim, especially by “turning” the Torah over and over as taught by Ben Bag Bag in the Mishnah. This process of flipping and reinterpreting Torah parallels the Arizal’s concept of the five chasadim, representing continual renewal in learning. Genuine understanding emerges through both study and simple, heartfelt conversations with Tzadikim, which illuminate hidden moral insights and bring Rebbe Nachman’s teachings into personal relevance and lived experience.Help support Breslov Therapy:

We explore Parshat Noach through the lens of the Heichal HaTemurot—the Chamber of Exchanges. The flood was a measure-for-measure response to a world that had traded holiness for corruption, truth for falsehood, and joy for despair. When people stop valuing what Hashem gives them and look elsewhere for fulfillment, they feed the very forces of confusion that bring destruction. The rainbow, Hashem’s covenant with Noach, represents the shofar blasts of Rosh Hashanah—the tekiah, shevarim, teruah—which draw mercy into the world and remind us of the tzaddikim whose joy and holiness uphold creation. Just as the generation of the flood drowned in exchanges, we too must guard against the sadness that leads us to look beyond our portion. Through simcha and gratitude, the light of the rainbow becomes our protection, restoring clarity and reconnecting us to Hashem’s kindness.Help support Breslov Therapy: https://linktr.ee/breslovtherapy

In Parshat Bereishit, Adam and Chava are driven from the Garden of Eden, and Hashem places the Lahat HaCherev HaMit’hapechet—the revolving sword—to guard the way to the Tree of Life. This sword symbolizes the Chamber of Exchanges, where truth and falsehood are constantly swapped. The greatest test of life is not open rebellion, but being deceived by distortion—seeing darkness as light and falsehood as truth. The only way to pass through this sword is through emunah and simcha. When we face confusion with faith and joy, rather than intellectual struggle, we cut through illusion and draw close to the Tree of Life. Through Torah, clarity, and happiness, we overcome the world’s deception and rediscover Hashem’s light hidden within creation.Help support Breslov Therapy: https://linktr.ee/breslovtherapy

Rebbe Nachman’s passing on the fourth day of Sukkot in 1810 and his burial among the martyrs in Uman embody his mission of soul rectification and Kiddush Hashem. His resting place serves as a channel for drawing holiness from the “Chamber of Exchanges,” where spiritual energy can be diverted or trapped. Through this concept, Rebbe Nachman revealed how sadness, emptiness, and assimilation result from holiness being exchanged with impurity, and how joy, halachic devotion, and guidance from true tzaddikim restore balance. His burial, facilitated by Hirsch Ber Horowitz, symbolized reclaiming holiness even from secular realms. The Sukkah’s symbolism of leaving permanence for divine connection in the outside domains parallels Rebbe Nachman’s mission to extract holiness from impurity and repair the spiritual damage originating from Moshe’s acceptance of the Erev Rav. His teachings link the work of Moshe, Aharon, Yosef, and David to the process of gathering lost sparks, achieved through the four Breslov devotions—study of Shulchan Aruch, mikveh, midnight prayer, and hitbodedut—and the nine fundamental Breslov books that form the spiritual rope of extraction leading to ultimate redemption.

In these turbulent times, when falsehood dominates and confusion spreads, Rebbe Nachman teaches that all deception originates in the Chamber of Exchanges—where good and evil are swapped, truth is distorted, and light is hidden. The only defense against this darkness is joy. On Sukkot, the festival known as Zman Simchateinu, the sukkah becomes our shield against these forces, like Noah’s Ark amid the flood. By entering the sukkah with faith and gratitude, we step outside the illusions of the world and reconnect to Hashem in simplicity and truth. Through joy in our Yiddishkeit—rejoicing in every mitzvah and every moment of connection—we break the grip of despair, reclaim our holiness, and draw the light of redemption into the world.Help support Breslov Therapy: https://linktr.ee/breslovtherapy

This class is based on Likutey Moharan lesson 24:Yom Kippur is not only a day of forgiveness, but also of restoration. Rebbe Nachman reveals that the “exchange chambers” steal a person’s energy and blessings, leaving behind guilt, sadness, and sin. On Rosh Hashanah, the Tzaddikim begin the process of freeing Hashem’s Malchut and our hidden good. Yom Kippur completes this work, as our vidui - the confessions we repeat again and again - remind Hashem of what was taken from us. Each prayer, each honest word, helps restore lost holiness and return us to our rightful place. With the joy sparked on Rosh Hashanah and the clarity of Yom Kippur, we find renewal, healing, and a fresh start for the year ahead

In Parshat Nitzavim, Moshe includes not only Israel but also the “woodchoppers and water-drawers” — the Givonim who tricked their way into conversion. How could souls emerge from the seven nations marked for destruction? Rebbe Nachman reveals the mystery of the Exchange Chambers, where sparks are swapped and hidden until they find their way back. The Givonim’s sly plan reflects this process: chopping the Tree of Knowledge to separate good from evil, then drawing living waters of Torah. Their story teaches us never to despair — even the most hidden sparks can return.Help support Breslov Therapy: https://linktr.ee/breslovtherapyThis class is based on Likutey Moharan lesson 24. על פי ההקדמות של ליקוטי מוהר"ן סימן כ"ד
In Parshat Ki Tavo, the mitzvah of tithing culminates in the declaration of viduy ma’aser, where the farmer affirms not only that he gave properly, but that he gave with joy. The five restrictions in this declaration correspond to five pathways of simcha: sanctified silliness, thanksgiving, music and dance, finding good points, and hope in the future. Through joyful giving, the produce of Eretz Yisrael becomes a channel of blessing to the entire world and draws us closer to the final redemption.Help support Breslov Therapy: https://linktr.ee/breslovtherapy

Likutey Halakhot, Orach Chaim, Hoda'ah #6 025-7
The focus on Jacob’s wrestling with the angel as a symbol of spiritual struggles tied to sadness, depression, and the delay of the Messiah’s arrival. Jacob’s resilience and joy were shown to empower his descendants through tzaddikim, with his victory over the angel reflecting spiritual authority and the transformation of sadness into holiness. Rashi’s interpretation of Jacob’s request for blessing, contrasted with literal readings, highlighted Jacob’s determination to secure spiritual strength for future generations, while Reb Noson identified the angel as sadness, emphasizing psychological depth. Teachings from Rebbe Nachman explained that joy must actively pursue and transform sadness, with happiness used as a tool for reframing suffering and revealing hidden good. Jacob’s wrestling was presented as a model for permanently converting sadness into joy, symbolized by the blessing’s future orientation, establishing joy as the foundation of redemption.

Teachings focused on the soul’s journey, reincarnation, and the spiritual dynamics of holiness and impurity, emphasizing how souls are placed in specific circumstances based on prior incarnations and generational merit. Life challenges and setbacks are linked to divine retribution, Amalek, and distorted imagination, while spiritual progress is a struggle against forces that drain energy and light. Practical pathways to joy, with techniques such as cultivating “fake happiness” to reconnect with true joy rooted in mitzvot and gratitude, alongside teachings from Rebbe Nachman on reclaiming stolen holiness and anticipating future redemption. Simcha is a weapon against negativity, with emphasis on finding good points, appreciating the present, and maintaining hope.

In Parshat Shoftim, the Torah warns about the Zaken Mamre, the sage who rejects the High Sanhedrin in the Holy Temple. This happens when Torah is learned without joy, leaving a person vulnerable to confusion and error. The Torah commands that his execution be during the festivals, when the nation’s collective simcha uplifts and rectifies. The lesson for us is that joy is not secondary but the goal of Torah itself—through simcha we reconnect to our beginnings, return to Hashem, and prepare for Rosh Hashanah with vegilu bir’ada, rejoicing with awe.

In Parshat Re’eh, the Torah commands us to destroy five types of idolatry upon entering the Land. Rebbe Nachman reveals that each one corresponds to a lack of true simcha, the very root of idol worship. The altars of many stones reflect ingratitude, the single-stone altar denial of even one good point, the idol-tree a false impression that must be burned with holy joy and movement, the carved idols a denial of the eternal joy of the future, and their names mocked as we turn silliness into real joy. By uprooting these five, we open the way to serve Hashem in the Holy Land with joy and truth.
