The mid-terms took place this week and at the time this episode of BreakNbread was downloaded we still don’t have all of the results. Meanwhile, Florida, who was once ridiculed for the states handling of the vote count between then Vice President Al Gore & Presidential candidate George W. Bush is now providing one of the fastest turnaround time for election results. Part of this is due to passing legislation that allows local counties to start counting mail-in ballots 22 days before election day.
But it doesn’t stop there. State law also requires early voting ballots, be counted the day before election day.
Finally, the results from early voting must be posted within 30 minutes of poll closing. This translates into election results the day of the election.
