In todays podcast Scott Wustenerg from
Optimal Life talk about the long term effects of viruses on our brain and bodies. There have been some interesting studies published looking at the link between Alzheimers and herpes viruses in the brain. It appears that the white plaque formations that occur in Alzheimers in some cases may be due to your immune system trying to wrap up the virus and that the symptoms of Alzheimers is due to too many of these protective bubbles in the brain effecting the way neurons signal to one another.
Scott and I talk about how this process isnt limited to Alzheimers and that the brains mechanism for protecting itself from viruses is in all of us who have the herpes virus when it makes its way into our brian.
We talk about how it happens, why it happens and what can be done to promote long term brain health.
Enjoy.
