Boss Moms,
Being a chaperone at my son's middle school party was both a heartwarming and bittersweet experience. As I stood there, surrounded by laughter and excitement, I couldn't help but feel a mix of pride and nostalgia. It’s hard to admit, but it’s becoming more and more evident that my little boy is growing up.
Watching him interact with his friends, a little more independent and a lot more confident, made me realize just how much he’s changed. It’s a beautiful thing to see him building his own social world, but it’s also a reminder that the days of him needing me for everything are slowly slipping away.
I caught myself hovering a bit, making sure he was okay, even though I knew he was perfectly fine. It’s not always easy to step back, but I know it’s part of the process. As much as I wish I could freeze time and hold onto these moments, I know this is all just part of him growing into the person he’s meant to be.
So, while it’s tough to let go, I’m learning to cherish these in-between moments—those little windows where I still get to be a part of his world, even as he takes bigger steps on his own. It’s a strange mix of emotions, but mostly, it’s just pure love. 💙
