Can a piece of tech help you listen to your body better without running your life? 💡 In this episode, we’re diving into our unfiltered review of the Oura Ring—a sleek health wearable designed to track your sleep, stress, fitness, and even your cycle. But here’s the catch: we aren’t here for tech that tells us what to do—we’re here for tools that serve us, not control us. 😌
We break down:
Why we ditched our buzzing Apple Watches for something less intrusive
The best (and most unexpected) Oura Ring features—like the AI-powered Oura Advisor
Our real talk on data anxiety (can tracking too much make you feel worse?)
How syncing with Natural Cycles for hormone-free birth control and women’s health research was a game-changer
Sleep metrics that actually made us defend our bedtime like our lives depended on it 💤
We’re sharing what worked, what didn’t, and who the Oura Ring might be right for. If you’re curious about wearable tech for wellness or wondering how to balance tracking data without becoming obsessive, this one’s for you.
✨ Spoiler: We aren’t sponsored—but hey Oura, call us 😉.
In this powerful conversation, we sit down with Denise Williams, a systems thinker, Coast Salish leader, and former CEO of the First Nations Technology Council, to talk about what it really takes to lead, especially when you're the first, the only, or the one expected to hold it all together.
From growing up in Haida Gwaii to becoming CEO at just 27, Denise shares her journey of building bridges between tech, tradition, and truth. We talk about digital sovereignty, being mixed-race in a world that boxes identity, and the unexpected loneliness that can accompany leadership.
If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite belong or have been shoulder-tapped to lead when you didn’t feel ready, this episode is for you.
🔍 In this episode:
What it means to belong when you feel like you belong nowhere
The weight (and clarity) of being a leader without a roadmap
Why digital equity for Indigenous communities matters for everyone
Navigating burnout, boundaries & big systems as a values-driven human
What to do when you’re leading alone—and how to build a practice that sustains you
💡 “Maybe we don't belong in a box—maybe we belong everywhere.”
