The root cause for everyone’s misery is desire. All desires are dangerously seductive to one’s own destruction. All attraction leads us towards insatiable desires which may be fulfilled or not. If it’s fulfilled then the next one arises, if not fulfilled then anger ensues which leads one towards destruction. All desires are created by their own nature and driven by Gunas. Also we are driven by our nature. Following our own Swadharma is the only way for reaching our spiritual goals. Everyone has to do their duties and actions, even if God has taken birth here. One should constantly perform actions without attachments. But those who are materially inclined, the spiritual folks should not force them to perform actions even if they know it may lead them to rebirths. One can only advise them but cannot force their actions. They will do the same but will get trapped in the cycle of rebirths. The spiritual folks should stay away from these folks and feel compassion for them but never interfere. Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna about these actions in the Bhagavad Gita for Women in Chapter 3, Verses 24-27. Krsnaknows explains the verses to you.
