Use your gifts in Marketplace Ministry (Herb & Diane Bishop)

Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." We as Christian believers often think that the Kingdom of God (and using our spiritual gifts, talents, and skills) means just inside the four walls of the church that we attend.

But God wants us to bring His Kingdom everywhere we go, out into the marketplace, because His Kingdom (His Holy Spirit) is inside of us.

In this episode, Herb and Diane Bishop speak about the power of Marketplace Ministry, using our gifts in the world, even in their jobs as realtors.

Be the Light with Elizabeth Zacharias

In John 8:12 (ESV), Jesus said, "I AM the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” In today's episode, guest speaker Elizabeth Zacharias shares how Jesus is the Light and that we as Christian believers are to be light, too, to a world in spiritual darkness.

We discuss what this means on a practical level, such as sharing God's love, kindness, and meeting needs with everyone we meet - at Walmart, the post office, the grocery store, with our spouses, our children, and others.

Elizabeth Zacharias is an author, speaker, and life coach. She lives just south of Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband Dan, their two young adult daughters, and their two cats. They moved from Maine to Missouri via Wyoming 27 years ago. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor's of Science in Social Work degree.

Elizabeth loves to write, cook, eat dark chocolate, and explore other types of cuisines and cultures. She also loves to encourage others in their life journey as they grow closer to Jesus, their Bridegroom King.

She longs to see them grow emotionally and spiritually so they can become the person that God, their creator, always desired them to be in relationship with Him, since the beginning of time.

Nomads for God in a schoolie (God, who do you want me to share the good news with today? Karen Wells)

If you feel hesitant or afraid to share the good news about Jesus Christ with others, a powerful prayer is to pray, "God, if you want to use me, open a door. Who do you want me to share the gospel with today? Who do you want me to talk to?"

In this podcast episode, Beth M. Jones interviews Karen Wells about the gift of evangelism - how important it is for us as Christian believers to talk boldly and with God's agape love with others about Jesus and how our faith in Jesus has changed us, no matter how fearful that may feel to us. Karen and her husband Simon are driving across Canada and wherever God leads them as "nomads for the Lord in a schoolie!"

Karen Wells has been married to her husband Simon for almost 37 years. She has one daughter, one son, and eight grandchildren.

Although Saskatchewan, Canada is her home base, she is presently living a nomadic lifestyle with Simon, asking God to bring them to people to serve, and with whom to share the Gospel.

Karen has been living for the Lord for 43 years.

Your worst setback is your most incredible comeback: Tamra Schmitt

Did you know that your worst setback is your most incredible comeback? Join Beth M. Jones as she interviews Tamra Schmitt for this powerful, encouraging interview about how God can be known and praised even in the midst of the darkest, most challenging circumstances of life.

Tamra's prayer through her healing journey has been, "God, please be made known in this."

Tamra, a three-time cancer "thriver," is founder of Whispers from Heaven Ministries. Through her ministry, she writes and speaks to draw others into intimacy with God - one heart at a time. Tamra and her ministry team share hope through faith-based bookmarks she creates and distributes with her team.

She also enjoys spending time with her family and her friends, walking in the beauty of a sunrise, and retreating at Pacem in Terris Hermitage Retreat Center.

On today's show, Tamra shares about the 22 times she has traveled to Pacem to spend precious time with the Lord for a "reset" and a refreshing at one of the center's rustic, simple prayer cabins.

Hear about the powerful time she encountered with Jesus on the boardwalk and when a heart-shaped leaf fell on her during her walk in nature.

You will learn what to expect when you get there at Pacem, about the beauty of the acres of land there with three miles of walking trails, the fruit, cheese, and bread baskets and bottles of water you receive when you arrive as a guest, and the prayers that the staff cover you with before, during, and after your arrival.

Above all, Tamra encourages you that you matter and are deeply loved by God, and to have that intimate relationship every day with Jesus.

Tamra lives in her hometown of Hampton, Iowa, and her greatest blessings call her Aunt MeMe, Aunt Tamra, or Aunt Tami.

Scripture:

"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:11

God's grace to change

My husband Ray and I have been dealing with house things - a limb from our neighbor's yard fell onto our roof and gutter, needing repair; our hot water heater had to be replaced; and today a plumber is trying to fix a leaky faucet. All these things are expensive and add up. As I pondered these, I thought where in my life do I need spiritual repairing and replacing? Where do you?

We're not able to change ourselves. We can only become a new creation through the power of Jesus' blood and His work on the cross and God's grace by the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever seen a depressed, fearful, or angry butterfly? No. Butterflies are free and happy. It is a creature that underwent metamorphosis, changing from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. Christ will do that same work in you and me as we have faith in Him and obey His word.

Unstoppable: Interview with Diana Journy

Victory Coach, Speaker, and founder of Journey to Victory Diana Journy shares about unstoppable faith in Jesus Christ that she needed when her husband Tim had an affair.

She helps women and couples to heal, grow, and reclaim joy after life's hardest seasons. Diana shares about the pain, betrayal, and anger that she felt from the affair and how God helped her (and Tim with his pain and shame) get through it to healing.

They now help other couples navigate betrayal, grief, or disconnection to receive healing and empowerment. They lead marriage coaching programs that help couples to rebuild trust, connection, and purpose. Diana's work is grounded in faith and is fueled by the belief that even in the most broken moments, victory is still possible.

Tim and Diana have four children, and Diana says that her grandchildren are her "sweet spot." They have a rescue dog, Bo, who Diana recused after learning that his elderly earth parents had passed, leaving 4-year-old Bo homeless. She believes that dogs teach us valuable lessons about love.

Kim is chasing new dreams now, on the speaking circuit, writing her exciting life story, and about to travel again to Houston, Chile, and other amazing places.

Clinging to Jesus

Yesterday, my friend Debbie sent me a powerful picture of a man clinging to the Cross, posted by Jennifer Brooks. Her post encouraged us that no matter what anxiety, grief, or horror story you or I are going through right now, "Just cling."

This reminded me of the story in John 20:11-18, where Mary Magdalene was standing outside Jesus' tomb, crying. Two angels sitting there, one where His head had lain and one where His feet were, asked her why she was crying and who she was looking for.

She said, "They have taken my Lord away, I don't know where they have put Him." Then Jesus appeared to her, but she didn't know that it was Him and presumed Him to be the gardener. Jesus asked her the same question: "Woman, why are you crying? Who is it that you are looking for?"

Her response was a little amusing. She told Him that if He had carried Jesus away, to tell her where He was and she would go get Him. How would she, a woman alone, drag Jesus' body away with her? Jesus then said her name, "Mary," and she immediately recognized Him. She said, "Rabboni," which means "Teacher."

God knows your name and He is speaking it to you now. What is Jesus teaching you and me?

Jesus told her to stop clinging to Him and gave her an instruction, a command--the same one that He gives you and me. To go and tell. To share the Good News about Jesus with others, even to the ends of the Earth.

Who or what are you clinging to right now in the midst of your trial?

No matter what hardship you or I are experiencing, we can cling to Jesus. We can also trust Him. He's here right now, wanting to help us and reveal how much He loves us and desires to show us God's goodness and faithfulness.

One word 2025

I hope you had a blessed Christmas and New Year's Day with your family and your friends. Before the start of a new year, my husband Ray and I pray about the coming year for God's presence to be with us, and for His protection, wisdom, guidance, and blessings upon us, our children, our grandchildren, and other loved ones. I also pray for a "one word" for the coming year.

This year God gave me two words: surrender and believe.

IN this episode, I share the definition of each word and Scriptures relating to them. It's important for us as Christians to not give into fear and to believe and trust God and His etneral word.

Verses:

2 Timothy 1;7

Mark 11;24

Isaiah 4110

What is your one word and anchor verse for this new year 2025? I also seek to find a worship/praise song to encourage me and give me hope and faith throughout the year.
