Today we're talking about something that might surprise you - how eating too little can actually hurt your weight loss journey instead of helping it
You might fall into the camp where you assume the less you eat, the more weight you lose. Here are some surprising reasons why youre wrong:
1. Your body goes into starvation mode: When you don't eat enough calories, your metabolism slows down and your body starts holding onto fat as a survival mechanism.
2. You get hangry (hungry + angry): When you restrict your food intake too much, you become irritable, moody and unable to focus. Not exactly the most productive state to be in when you need to work smarter!
3. You end up bingeing: Eventually, depriving yourself of food will lead to overeating which can cause guilt and shame.
So what's the solution? Eating smarter not harder! Focus on consuming nutrient-dense foods that will fuel your body while keeping you satisfied like fruits, veggies, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. And please, for the love of all things good, do not skip meals or drastically reduce your calorie intake.
