Oscars Babyyy: Triangle of Tàr (Tàr & Triangle of Sadness)

Do awards technically mean anything? NOHR! Do we still love Oscars season? YEH! We picked four Best Picture nominees that we loved and we are diggin' in, babyyy. First, sink into Tàr, Todd Field's latest masterpiece and one of our absolute favorite films of the year. Then, we step into the Triangle of Sadness, an unbelievably fresh dark comedy that mocks the very people who invested their money into the film. Eat the rich, am I right?

If you're not into spoilers, check out "Banshees of Inisherin" & "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" for next week's episode.

Brendan is God, Never a Monster AKA "Gods and Monsters"

We are back with our second episode in our month of Brendan Fraser and this week we're jumping into the 1998 Oscar-winning Gods and Monsters. We have a lot of feelings about this film, but the takeaway is that Brendan is a BABE and he is a severely underrate actor. Raise your hand if you're stoked for the #Brenaissance!

If you're not into spoilers, check out "Bedazzled" for next week's episode.

Don't Worry Flo, You're Wonderful! aka "Don't Worry Darling" & "The Wonder"

Our Month of Pugh concludes with one of the most talked about films of 2022, "Don't Worry Darling", alongside one of the least talked about, "The Wonder". If there's one thing that Miss Flo has, it's RANGE. From 1950's sexy housewife to 1860's English nurse, our girl has yet to fail to deliver STUNNING performances.

If you're not into spoilers, check out "Krampus" for next week's episode.

Welcome to the Month of Pugh! We've watched Miss Flo rise to the top of Hollywood and we're willing to bet a lot of marmalade she's not stopping anytime soon. Sad Brad and His Eternal Damnation aka “Interview with the Vampire”

Call 911, because this episode is on FIRE!! Jk it’s just one of the ten fires that Brad Pitt starts in this movie, the second film in our incredibly spooky Halloween vampire series. Interview with the Vampire is a homoerotic sensation in which Brad Pitt, a very sad man with a very sexy blowout, is turned into a vampire by a dandy undead Tom Cruise. Essentially, they hate each other so much until Tommy turns baby Kirsten Dunst into a tiny vampire as a companion for Sad Brad. CHAOS ENSUES. Best Boys
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" aka Horny Bat Time

First up on the Best Boys Halloween Vampyr Series is Bram Stoker's Dracula--aka a really horny movie about a really horny bat. Jk, it's technically a 1992 masterpiece from Francis Ford Coppola about Count Dracula (Gary Oldman), a 15th-century prince, condemned to live off the blood of the living for eternity. Fast forward to the 1890s, where young lawyer Jonathan Harker (Keanu Reeves) is sent to Dracula's castle to finalize a land deal, but when the Count sees a photo of Harker's fiancée, Mina (Winona Ryder), the spitting image of Dracula's dead wife Elisabetta, he imprisons Harker and sets off for London to track Mina down. It's camp, it's horror, it's art, it's literally a perfect movie and no, we will not be taking questions at this time. THANK YOU AND HAPPY SPOOKTOBER.

If you're not into spoilers, check out "The Lost Boys” for next week's episode.

Nicole Kidman: Nicoooole, I’m hoooome aka “Being the Ricardos”

Aaron Sorkin directing? Gross. Nicole Kidman playing comedic genius and overall badass Lucille Ball? Yes please. While our feelings on this performance are mixed, Nicole breathes life into parts of Lucy that were rarely seen by the public and does it flawlessly. In this 2021 film written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, Nicole plays Lucille Ball as she experiences personal and professional hurdles that jeopardize her career and her marriage.

If you're not into spoilers, check out "Bram Stoker's Dracula” for next week's episode.

Nicole Kidman: If You Knohr, You Knohr aka "The Hours"

We've said it once and we will say it again...Nicole Kidman's performance in The Hours (2002) is the best of her career. Poignant and masterful and, my god, does she look good in that prosthetic nose--she stands out in a trio of some of the most powerful actresses of our time. Nicole takes on the role of Virginia Woolf as she writes her famous novel Mrs. Dalloway in 1923. Her story crosses space and time to connect with the lives of Laura Brown in 1951 and Clarissa Vaughn in 2001, two women dealing with life, love, and the difficulty of all that comes with the hours.

Nicole Kidman: Ohr Nohr It's Ghohrsts aka "The Others"

There's a MAJOR twist in this film and it's not just Nicole Kidman's Grade A horror movie acting. "The Others" is an exemplary ghost story about a deeply religious mother trying to protect her children while questioning her reality. The perfect amuse bouche to spooky season.

If you're not into spoilers, check out "The Hours" for next week's episode.

Amy Adams: Princess of Passion (Junebug, American Hustle, Arrival)

This week, Monica and Jessica do a deep dive into Hollywood's favorite ingenue--the Princess of Passion, Amy Adams. Before she gained worldwide recognition as a Disney princess, Amy won the hearts of critics with her Oscar nominated performance in Junebug. She proved her dramatic range in films like American Hustle, and then drew on all of her talents to move audiences with her role in Arrival. She is one of the most versatile and entrancing actresses of her generation and we are stoked to call her a Daddy.

The nutritious and delicious daddy of the day is none other than Benedict Cucumbatch....I mean, Cumberbatch.
