In today's episode of Besides The Revolution, we talk with author Mary Haverstick about her book “A Woman I Know." What started out as an exploration of the first female astronaut took Mary down a path of Cold War espionage, a murder in Dallas of the president, and the double life of one of the people who were in Dealey Plaza that day. Tune in - It's a good one
We talk about a lot of things on today’s podcast. It wanders through a lot of topics, including the war in Ukraine and Israel, AI and misinformation, and the role that the citizen has in deciphering all of the different sources of information in order to have rational conversations. It’s another deep thinking one - enjoy.
I had the chance to interview Independent Congressional candidate Jon Thorp. He and I have had numerous discussions over the past few weeks about why he is running and what he thinks about American politics, economics, and Washington. This is a great conversation, and I think Jon has a lot of very good ideas that could make Washington work better.
There is almost no doubt at this point that the government, via the intelligence agencies, was a main player in the assassinations of both JFK and RFK. What the latest releases of files say is filled with evidence of that reality. While the Wall Street Journal and New York Times want to portray all of it as a giant nothing of a story, the real researchers and people who have spent their lives looking into this say the new documents confirm their suspicions about all of it.
Today, we talk with Matt Armstrong, an independent journalist who has taken a deep look into the files and has some incredible insights to share about it. Have a listen and find out some dark truths about the government that you might have suspected, and now seem confirmed by the government’s own paper trail.
Matt is a friend from the Kennedy campaign days, and he found his way to politics via the Oliver Stone movie, JFK, and his subsequent curiosities about it all. In the last ten years, Matt has written extensively on the topic of the assassinations and is a citizen journalist expert on the subject.
Enjoy the show.
In this week’s podcast, Jack and I spent our time talking about war and the fallout from the last two weeks; I, the skeptical American, and Jack the tuned-in Brit. It is a great discussion about what happened and how Jack was right about the entire episode, and how I reserve judgment to be right in the future. (I have seen the Mission Accomplished banner before.)
We’d love to get your thoughts on our take on the last few weeks and see if you have differing opinions from ours.
Join us for another podcast episode of Besides The Revolution. In today’s episode Jack and I discuss a multitude of things including the JFK files and the underwhelming feeling it gives the public, even though it should be shocking that the CIA killed a president in broad daylight. We also discuss Russia and Europe and the endless fetish for war. Finally, we give grades to the Trump Administration, including RFK Jr. at HHS.
Enjoy the show!
You won’t want to miss today’s long-overdue episode of Besides The Revolution podcast. Jack and I are back, and we have a lot to discuss. We have a special guest on to discuss the ethics of AI, and we also get into the Mean Girls fight between Elon and Trump. Enjoy the show!
Jack and I discuss a wide variety of topics, as usual. We are back with another podcast about Jack’s visit to CPAC. Many interesting and newsworthy things came from his time there, but also a fascinating look at the future of politics in America. We ask some hard questions about the value of the Constitution in a techno-managed world, as well as a discussion on secession and federalism. All of our Abraham Lincoln fans will be frustrated once again!
In this episode, we discuss RFK Jr.'s confirmation hearings, the death of Marianne Faithful and have author Matthew Lysiak visit about his profound book, Fiat Food.
Another great conversation.
A wide range of topics today on Besides The Revolution. We talk about the consequences of utopian government voting and how Facebook's founder is on a PR tour to make sure he's not forgotten in a fast-changing social media world.
With the discussions on X bringing light to this awful subject, we spent today discussing it from Jack's perspective. He was a first-hand witness - and became radicalized - because of it. It is a heavy episode with some dark topics, but it is worth understanding the real-world pain that the ignoring by government has created.
The world is shifting faster than we imagine. AI is here to stay and we will have to choose how we deal with it. Jack and I discuss the challenges ahead as well as the lack of human emphasis on its design.
In this week's episode, we discuss the future of independent journalism with Anna Matson. Anna was an incredible voice during the RFK Jr. campaign and has used her talents to carve out truthful discussions about the narratives and falsehoods that are often presented in the mainstream media.
Jack and I are back with a new format and video too. We are excited to bring you weekly conversations about politics, culture, history and a multitude of other things. In this episode we discuss our new Substack and how to join in with us on the journey of independent journalism and analysis. We hope you will find Besides The Revolution, a great place to get long form analysis on the news and cultural events.

Jack and I are back with a special, pre-election day conversation about what is coming down the road on Tuesday. We give our predictions as well as a recap of all that happened throughout the Kennedy campaign.
This was intended originally to be an interview for a special video project, but as the conversation went on, we felt it was important to let the entire conversation play out somewhere for people to hear. Mike is an amazing patriot who has served his country in one of the most difficult times in our history. The number of deployments he took during our efforts in the Middle East is stunning and were the same in 15 years as they were for his family members who served in Korea, Vietnam and other places in 33 years of service. He and countless others of his peers are American stories that aren't being told but need attention. Thankful to have had this moment with Mike.
Jack and I discuss the wildest week to date in the 2024 Election. Between the assassination attempt on the life of President Trump, to the RNC convention and rumors of Joe Biden stepping down, we talk about the ever changing landscape and the emotions that come with such a historic event. It seems ever more apparent that RFK jr. is a necessary voice in a very vitriolic time.
Jack and I are back talking about the debate from last week, the continuing panic within the Democratic Party over Joe Biden's mental state and his clear cognitive decline. We talk about RFK jr.'s The Real Debate format that he was able to get a lot of traction with despite being excluded from the CNN stage. We also talk about ballot access and the Libertarian Party's decision in Colorado to give ballot access to Kennedy as their choice for nominee. Another wide ranging conversation about the current state of affairs in the Kennedy campaign.
This one has a wide range of conversation going on. It was good to be back with Jack discussing all the things about tonight and the exclusion of Robert Kennedy Jr. from the "debate" or stage show with Biden and Trump. We discuss the first amendment case that the Rock Ribbed Conservative court fumbled all over themselves to torture the words to dismiss by standing - a classic John Roberts move. We talk British politics, Sunak, Truss, and the dissolving of the Conservative Party. Another good one and something you can pre-game before the debate.
Jack and I are back talking about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s discussion on the Tim Pool podcast about reparations and black farmers. We discuss how radicalism is engendered by unequal application of the law and how Kennedy is the very best candidate to address this because of his ability to know the law better than the people writing the laws. We also discuss the Libertarian Party convention and the just desserts that were the result of not understanding politics, operating out of smugness and personality. Another great episode!
