Halloween can be fun and a great time to make some memories. I’m back to share some ideas and stories about Halloween.
In this episode I cover what to do when you find out your partner is pregnant. I share some thoughts on how to talk to them, how to help, and how to be supportive. This book, DUDE! You're Gonna Be A Dad! helped me prepare and gave some laughs along the way. Enjoy!
Brandon Jones, the founder of Be Dadly, discovered that his oldest son was struggling with severe behavioral issues that led to his expulsion from kindergarten. After numerous attempts, Brandon realized that his inherited parenting techniques were ineffective and decided to make drastic changes. His new approach yielded better results, and he's now dedicated to helping fathers improve their children's behavior without resorting to yelling, spanking, or anger. Over the last decade, Brandon has studied and implemented the most effective parenting techniques, and he has become a Certified Parent Educator.
In this interview, we will discuss the crucial adjustments that Brandon made to assist his misbehaving child, as well as the techniques he teaches to his clients.

This episode is a quick conversation on anger management and how to handle it. This is not a focus on discipline, but reacting with anger. Some people may think spanking is a good form of discipline, some people don't. That is up to each and every parent's own discretion. This is about hitting with anger. Some tips are shared, some thoughts on counseling, and some important steps to take when you are feeling angry with your kids or partner.

Take some time this New Year to make some new memories. Not all memories have to be expensive or grand. Board game nights, hiking trips, reading special stories, blanket forts, and much more can be great memories that last forever! Remember, It's not about being the best dad in the world, but being the best dad for our kids right now!

In this episode I speak with Josh Chiado, band director from Grafton, WV and Dan Luigs, host of Journey of a Christian Dad Podcast. We discuss their stories of miscarriage and how they coped with grief with their wives. They are hard stories, but necessary for us to hear as we work through the trial of losing a baby. Grief isn't spoken of enough for men. We need to be able to share our pain and work through it with each other. Being a healthy dad means being emotionally healthy as well. Work through grief.

This episode I have a conversation with Adam Cheeseman, Superintendent for Doddridge County schools in West Virginia. We discuss trends in causes fro gun violence in schools, how school systems are addressing the issue, and how parents can be more supportive of our school staff. It does take a village and teachers are a part of that village. We need to care for everyone involved in the process of caring for our children.

Quality character is essential when it comes to raising our children. We want our kids to grow up carrying our character not defending it. How are we treating others? How are we handling stress? How are we being honest? How are we treating the other parent? There's so much to consider, but if we are wise and work at it, we will have a character that our kids will carry at the end and they don't have to defend it.

My Children's Book: Gregory's Big Move
This was an interview recorded on June 2nd. There has been some delays in getting this episode uploaded. It is still relevant and necessary.
Gun violence is a major issue facing America. Our kids are learning how to hide from active shooters in schools, kids in the inner city are walking on different sides of the street to avoid altercations, and much more. Our children are victims even if they aren't near the shooter. They wonder if their school is next, their friend is next, or their family is next. It's traumatizing and unfair. So, how do we as parents address it? How do we bring comfort? How do we help them understand their value and the value they bring to others?
In this conversation, I am joined by Ray Nelson, Director of Outreach and Soul Care at The House D.C. in Washington, D.C.
This is a hard conversation, but necessary. I hope you can engage and listen to what is said. This is not political. This is just a focus on how to address the issue with our children and how to be a safe space.

On this episode I have a great discussion with Alan Smyth, Co-Author of Men! Fight For Me The Role of Authentic Masculinity in Ending Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking. We speak on the importance of standing up and fighting for those who need our voices. Dads have a role to play in speaking and standing up.
Alan shares the 4 pillars of "authentic" manhood:
○ Accepts responsibility; ○ Leads courageously; ○ Lives a life of service; ○ Understands who he is is more important than what he does.
