The 7th seeded Lakers were facing off in the first round against the 2nd seeded Phoenix Suns, led by MVP Steve Nash. The Lakers were the heavy underdogs heading into the series and after shocking the Suns in games 2 and 3, the Lakers had a chance to go up 3-1 in this best-of-7 series. This was the final game of the 2003/04 NBA season and the Lakers traveled to Portland with a chance to win the Pacific outright. After a slow start, the Lakers and Kobe got going and Kobe kept the Lakers in it. This game featured two amazing Kobe Bryant buzzer-beaters ... one to send it to OT and the other to win it in double-OT. Kobe came in scoring 35 or more in the previous 4 games and torched New York for 46 on this night--including several memorable plays. With an electric MSG crowd and TNT favorite Kevin Harlan on the microphone, this game is immortalized in Laker lore as Kobe began a steak of 9 consecutive 40 point games to get the 2003 Lakers back into the playoff hunt.
