Gameplay

Parallel draws inspiration from traditional trading card games (TGC) while also pushing boundaries of game design through the use of modern technology. The Parallel TCG centers around the Parallel Studio’s NFT collection, an expanding collection of digital assets focusing on the five factions (called Parallels). These Parallels are central to the expanding narrative.

During matches, players use decks of collectible NFTs to compete against other players. As with most other P2E games these days, the NFTs used in the play is player owned and allow the player to gain some real-world value for the time and effort spent in the game. However, Parallel is not planning on being just a P2E game. It aims to create an experience beyond the current settings.

Players can derive value from their NFTs through staking, card sharing, and market activity rewards, among other things. With the introduction of AR/MR gameplay, Parallel will bridge the gap between playing against random opponents online and playing in-person, and even against a friend. The goal is to eliminate spatial limitations and offer a unique experience.

The reward for winning a match is PRIME tokens. Parallel is the first game to utilize the Echelon ecosystem’s suite of smart contracts and the PRIME token. Players would have to strategically build and customize their NFT decks to skillfully surpass other players.

To play the game, a player needs at least one complete deck. A deck contains 40 cards and may have those cards from a single Parallel or combined with Universal cards. Universal cards do not belong to any of the five Parallels and may be used in all decks. In a 40 card deck, the player is limited to three copies of the same card, except legendary ones. They are limited to one copy.

Players can collect more than one deck and have decks in every Parallel. When starting a game, the player can choose which Parallel and deck to play for that specific game. There will not be attributes minted to the NFT cards, as this would mess up in-game balancing. The cards’ stats will be subject to change and balancing when the game is live.

Koakuma Key Takeaways

The story is set in a part of the world called Laria. A core system to the game is what is known as fiefs, which are territories players can improve as a community and will serve as their “home.” The core gameplay revolves around exploring, collecting, battling, gathering, and crafting.

Koakuma uses both Binance Smart Chain and Polygon as blockchain solutions. We can expect future NFT launches on both BSC and Polygon. The $KKMA token is the game’s primary currency and governance token. It is capped to 1,000,000,000 tokens. It is still undisclosed where the token will be launched. However, it will be either of the two aforementioned blockchains.

The Koakuma team consists of nearly 20 employees based primarily in China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The information on the team members is not easily verifiable. Koakuma is the first game of the new Koakuma Studios, and they have high expectations.

The website is enjoyable, but we would have liked to see more information about the team on the website directly. User-friendliness was considered when building the page. Overall, nice website, colors, and artwork.

Koakuma’s artwork focuses on a flat cartoony style. This graphical style usually sets a light-hearted and friendly mood, which really fits the game. The art is inviting yet intriguing. Going for this flat style, often considered timeless, will make the game look sharp years after its release.

The litepaper is surprisingly detailed for what it is. It explains the various mechanisms and systems we’ll see in the game, such as the fief, imp, and scholar systems. We would have liked more information about general gameplay mechanics, such as how fighting works.

Koakuma doesn’t have the largest following on social media, but the community seems to be invested and excited about the project. In recent weeks there has been tremendous growth in the community.

Koakuma is in its early stages, but the project has still managed to wow us with its game demo, featuring beautiful vibrant artwork, well-made soundtracks, and an overall enjoyable experience.

Kitsumon is a Pokèmon-Esque NFT game, including deep breeding and genetics mechanics. You will collect, breed, and care for your Kitsumons in the game. The intention is to breed strong Kitsus to battle with them in the MOBA PvP battle arena.
