Season 1 comes to a close - I know, you're sad. But don't be - we'll be back with season 2 before you know it!
We rehash favorite moments from the season, learning we really have not worked anything out on our end - leading subculture vs stupidity. When it comes back to sandwiches - where do corn dogs fit? Building rinks with your plans - NiceRink.com - Leaving it up year round because you are lazy - were do you stand. We say farewell to our new friends (most in Manitoba), hope that Jimmy has not ruined his teams chances this coming year at the USA Pond hockey championships and hope that Anthony has learned a little when it comes safely being on his ice.

There is so much packed into this week's show. Ya... we had a little delay with vacations - but Matt Brown from New Hampshire brings it this week! Tommy Kaifesh sits back down and show starts with a heated debate over hot dogs. Things settle out with Homeboni, Leaves, the winter classic in Lake Tahoe and the greatest Boston Bruin. If that was not enough - Rink liner use/reuse, and setting your home rink up for sled hockey
Pool vs. Rink.... where do you sit? What's more work?
Tommy Kaifesh sits back in, and we hope to give a little more to who he is. Mike Waddell stops by and talks his ODR (railroad ties and old school building) and the long lonely train north of Canada. To get it out of the way ... Jordin Tootoo is not dead, Tommy can rest easy. Not to worry, Mike worries about leaves and logos, Who has the best ice and Staking the river.
WE'RE BACK AFTER A WEEK OFF with a what's not your typical episode, but it's good! It's Eric... Mike ... and we got Eric's daughter Zoe and sitting in the 3rd chair is Tommy Kaifesh, The Pride of Locksmith University. Anthony and Jimmy didn't make it, the show has to go on. There's talk about how zoe learned she was left handed and talk about her and her dad's ODR. Not going to lie, we spend a great deal of time talking Marvel vs. DC.... and it gets pretty heated over something no one has seen. The best thing Zoe bring up is the EPIC ODR fail from her rink.... and we'll share the video!
Episode 22... and you know it goes thru 22! This week Jerry Dove from Northwest of London Ontario 1st built with his ODR with a NiceRink kit, and it took off to his current year round set up! We've wanted to have someone on to talk Year Round "Ice" .... and so we did! There's also discussion of things to eat while recording, and you can guess that doesn't go too well. We hit on Wisconsin Badgers hockey, Milwaukee Admirals and the Nashville Predators... talking about how hockey brings everyone together.

Anthony has the week off and our producer Mike sets up to handle the hard questions this week. Then we throw out an open call on social media for ODR enthusiasts... and Jayne answered the call. We travel back north to Durham Bridge New Brunswick Canada (North of Bangor Maine for those that don't want to google it) to talk about a pallet rink that stays up year round! We learn that there is a combo of DYI and NiceRink.com - rounded out by some sweet pallet furniture. After listening to Jayne talk, and seeing her photos, no way that you CANNOT build your own rink. You'll want to listen to know so that you can say, "I know her..." when she's featured on Outdoor Hockey Club next year.

There's talk about the USA Pond Hockey Championship in Eagle River and the help from the community to make it happen - from the pond, to moving the event to the derby track. We talk about Katie's travel's with USA hockey to places you never would think had ice, and growing up in a hockey house. There are no punches held back when the conversation turns "The Goose Island Rule" and "Team Founders vs. Team Pondcocks".... turning into an old fashion Donnybrook between Eric and Jimmy and Anthony does his best to control the situation. AND ....... Not going to overlook the sandwich debate #HotTake ... lines are drawn, there might not be any coming back from. #SandwichArtist vs Wizard vs Simpleton

We got Chris back to finish the conversation from last week.
We talk 2x4s and the weight ratio of water to wood.
A question is posed - is 5,000 ft. of rope light enough?
What else around your rink acts like a leaf?
The love football, sorry soccer.
And, Chris talks about his love of curling, and hopes to build a curling sheet next to GarageBar next year .
The boys are talking with Chris Hegeman of Bliffert Lumber & Hardware about wood. Plywood to be exact - maintenance and storage are 2 key topics covered in this weeks episode. There's a discussion of "Big Box" vs. Lumber yard, and why Bliffert is the place you should go if you're looking to build your ODR from scratch. And as an added bonus, talk about relocating birds. What? Listen and find out.
