This week, Sam and Steve welcome special guest, and soon-to-be man of the hour, Tyler to the podcast. We talk more Jets fan misery after another pitiful Jets performance last weekend. We talk to Tyler about the big day this coming weekend and try to score a little inside info. Then we get into the weekly matchups and finish up with this week's edition of Team Name Power Rankings.
This week, Sam and Steve talk about the ineptitude of the Jets (again) and how Philadelphia sports went through an equally as devastating weekend. Per usual, we cover the matchups from this past week and some of the waiver wire options. Finally, we get to this week's Team Name Power Rankings (with a brief interruption to discuss Spaceballs 2 and how Top Gun 2 was robbed at the Oscars!).
This week Sam and Steve discuss the Mets epic collapse and missing the playoffs, and the misery of Mets/Jets fans. We shame the NFL for their new Tush Push complaints and Steve tells his story about getting Tush Pushed in Vegas for a Saudi Royal. Then we get into the matchup recaps and some quick waiver wire suggestions. Finally, we reveal the latest edition of the team name power rankings.
We're back under an hour this week (you're welcome!)
This week is our longest episode yet (we're very, very, very sorry)! We bid a fond farewell to USS Special Activities and discuss Stephen's very crisp (right-handed) salute. After goofing off for way too long, we get to this past week's matchups and discuss some trade basics. Then we briefly go over some current waiver wire options. Finally, we get to this week's edition of Stephen's Team Name Power Rankings (TNPR?). Keep those team names comin'!
This week Sam and Steve talk about Steve's work trip to Las Vegas and a variety of casino games. We also get into last weekend's matchups and preview the upcoming week's, as well as a quick discussion of some of this week's waiver targets. Finally, we get Steve's first official team name power rankings of the season!
This week Danielle subs in for an absent Stephen and we debut a brand new segment: Danielle's Dating Advice. We also discuss last week's matchups, new team names, the waiver wire, and some roster managment tips.
This week Sam and Steve recap the Sta-Jolly fantasy draft and a certain someone's insane interpretation of the zero RB strategy. They also return the beloved team name power rankings and preview the Eagles vs. Cowboys NFL opening game.
The Sta-Jolly Fantasy Football League is back for season 3!!
We're kicking off this season with a pre-draft podcast. Sam and Steve discuss our new trophy, some draft strategy, and go on a long tangent about Jags rookie Travis Hunter. Amazingly we stayed (more-or-less) on topic for this episode despite 0 preparation.
We plan to get back on track with the podcast this year. We'll bring in some weekly guests and continue our discussions about league matchups, football news, and good ole fashioned shenanigans!
Reminder: The Draft is on 9/1 at 8pm (Eastern)
This week Sam and Steve are back to discuss the results of the first round of the fantasy football playoffs and preview the semi-final round. Then, of course, they had to sneak a little bit of Aaron Rodgers talk in at the end...
This week Sam and Steve wish everyone a very Happy Hanukkah and welcome returning guest Jeremy to discuss the the Shohei Ohtani contract, the start of the StaJolly Playoffs, a losers trophy, recent results for the Jets and Eagles, and the Patrick Mahomes meltdown.
Good luck to all the contenders!
We’re back from our Thanksgiving hiatus!
We apologize for missing our live Thanksgiving podcast, but we’re back to regularly scheduled programming this week with 3rd time guest Danielle. We recap all of Thanksgiving week’s festivities [6:35], as well as our roadtrip back from Florida [16:25]. Then we discuss the Jets epic Black Friday blunder [20:05], the Eagles two fantastic wins [29:43], a look-ahead to the Eagles vs. 49ers on Sunday [33:01], and the prospect of Aaron Rodgers playing this season [34:57]. Then we review last week’s fantasy match-ups [44:00] and Danielle presenting some pre-post season awards [52:33]. Finally, Danielle sneaks in a trivia question right under the gun [1:08:09].
Everyone has a win!
This week Sam and Steve discuss the Jets unwatchable stinker and reiterate last week’s trivia question (10:52) since nobody answered it…which leads to a short diversion about 90s sitcoms. Then we introduce a new segment (15:24), StaJolly Mad Libs (workshopping the name), that I didn’t do nearly enough preparation for, but it led to some good tangents about our Mt. Rushmore of Australians, ideas for Gladiator 2, and our love of the “This is SportsCenter” commercials. Finally, we cover last week’s fantasy matchups (34:18).
Get me those trivia answers this week!
Next week we’ll be coming to you live from Thanksgiving in Boca!
Back to your regularly scheduled broadcast…sorta…
Stephen returns to his co-hosting duties this week…while roadtripping to the Redwoods! He and Sam welcome back guest co-host Tyler, aka Tim, aka “VT the Notorious IBD”, aka “MVP: Most Viscous Person” and we review our respective team performances from this past weekend (4:00). Then we get into this week’s Scuttlebutt (17:38) where Sam explains a few commissioners moves made this week and doles out this week’s trivia question (20:50). Finally, we get into our review last weekend’s fantasy match-ups (29:04).
Text/email me your trivia answers.
Putting out a call for any good trivia questions I can bank for future use in case we need one.
Another short one for y'all!
This week on At Any Rate, Sam welcomes guest co-host Danielle as they recap the Jets & Eagles wins from last Sunday (6:32). Then they get into the Scuttlebutt where Sam explains (poorly) a commissioner's move that was made on Sunday (10:49), as well as this week's trivia winner...guess who (14:31). Lastly, they get into this past weekend's league matchups where Danielle gets to gloat...again (19:15).
Unfortunately, no new trivia question in the episode, so keep a lookout for an email with a trivia question for this week.
We’re running on fumes this week, but we’re here to give the people what they want!
Sam and Steve are going after the guest-a-thon in last week’s episode, but the good news is, this is our shortest episode yet! We announce last week’s trivia answer/winner (6:45) and ask this week’s trivia question (10:55). Then we cover last weekend’s matchups (15:10) and quickly finish up with a review of Waivers (29:18).
Remember to text/email your trivia guesses.
Our worst episode yet…
This week Sam and Steve are coming to you live from Hershey, PA and we welcome a menagerie of guests. We start by bringing in Danielle Kaplan to discuss the Jets (1st and only) win against the Eagles and an epic game of Pictionary (14:10). Then we get into the StaJolly Scuttlebutt (20:00) where we discuss Jessie’s new team name (21:20), update Steve’s power rankings (23:42), announce last week’s trivia winner (26:16), and ask this week’s trivia question (28:25). Then we said goodbye to Dani and welcomed in our parade of guests: Lisa Kaplan (34:28), Jessica Oliver (47:43), Margie Oliver (1:06:02), Mari Gomez (1:25:16), Tyler Simowitz (aka VT the Notorious IBD) (1:39:06), and finally Stuart(?) Oliver (2:08:38).
By far our longest and least structured episode! I highly encourage using the time codes if you want to skip around to the good parts.
Remember to email/text me your trivia answers!
Somehow, it’s our best and worst episode yet!
This week we welcome our most anticipated guest yet, Tyler, aka “Tim” and start with a short preview of this week’s huge familial grudge match, Jets vs. Eagles (6:35). Then we get to the Scuttlebutt (12:46) and discuss the new team names of the week and update Stephen’s official power rankings (20:57) (plus a light scolding of Tyler for his “own goal”). Next, we announce the winner of last week’s trivia question (24:40) and eventually get around to asking the question for this week (29:58). Then we review this past week’s matchups (35:25), get into a short strategery session (49:53), and wrap things up with our waiver wire picks of the week (1:00:06).
Remember to text/email me your trivia answers!
Suggestions for improvements are always welcome.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHEN!!!
This week Sam and Steve briefly recap the Jets and Eagles games (the Jets came oh so close). Then we get into the StaJolly Scuttlebutt (10:40) and discuss the first couple of trades made by yours truly. Then we review the newest team names (13:43) and Stephen redoes his power rankings accordingly. We announce this week's trivia winner (22:45) and ask next week's trivia question (24:17). I also have a homework assignment for everyone! (28:35). After that, we welcome this week's special guest, Paul, for an interview to find out how his first fantasy season is going so far (31:00). Then we review this week's matchups (51:03) and finish up with some waiver wire talk (59:05).
Remember to email/text us with your trivia Q&As, as well as any comments or suggestions for the pod!
Somehow, we got longer...
This week, Sam and Steve welcome the stud Jeremy to the pod to talk a little bit about our beloved Birds and cover all this week's action. We start with this week's StaJolly Scuttlebutt (8:52), announce the winner of last week's trivia question (13:40), and ask this week's trivia question (22:00). Then we review the newest team names (25:25) and Stephen gives his team name power rankings (31:02). It took us long enough, but we finally got around to reviewing this past week's match-ups (37:16), a little strategery session about trading (48:00), and wrap up with some waiver wire talk (1:00:10).
Email me if you have any good segment ideas or trivia questions!
This week Sam and Stephen welcome (the infamous) Danielle Kaplan to At Any Rate to discuss this weeks fantasy action. We also provide a strategy session for the inexperience players as well as this week's top waiver wire targets. Finally, WE HAVE TRIVIA! First person to email/text me the answer(s) get's a prize (TBD...trust me, it won't be worth it)!
Somehow this episode ended up longer than the last. I promise we'll make the shorter....at some point.
