"I Confess With Faith" is a prayer written by St. Nersess Shnorhali. It is prayed during the Rest Hour, but because it is a beautiful, and long, prayer, it has been given its own episode.
The Rest Hour is the final prayer hour of the Armenian Liturgy of the Hours. It is addressed to the Father, beseeching Him to protect us under His Only Begotten Son’s holy hand.
The Peace Hour is dedicated to the Father and to the Son, Jesus Christ. At this hour, we remember Jesus’s descent into Hell to preach the Gospel after His resurrection, how troubled He felt in the garden of Gethsemane, where he prayed for His Father’s peace, and Jesus meeting His Apostles after the resurrection and giving them His peace.
The Evening Hour is dedicated to Jesus Christ, and symbolizes Jesus’ holy entombment.
The Ninth Hour is addressed to Jesus Christ. We remember His death and the liberation of humanity, in contrast with Adam and Eve who became trapped in death and sin by leaving the Garden of Eden.
The Sixth Hour is dedicated to God the Father, and symbolizes Jesus's crucifixion.
The Third Hour prayers are dedicated to the Holy Spirit, and considered a penitential service. We remember how the first humans, Adam and Eve tasted the forbidden fruit, and how Christ liberated us from that destructive sin through His Crucifixion.
The prayers of the Sunrise Service are addressed to the Holy Spirit, and this service symbolizes Jesus’ appearance to the Apostles after the resurrection.
The Morning Hour is addressed to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and symbolizes Christ's Resurrection and His appearance to the oil-bearing women on Sunday.
