Raised during segregation in Huntsville, Alabama, James Eddie shares his experiences attending all-black schools and later being drafted to the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Throughout her ninety-five years on this earth, Ms. Hattie has experienced the highest of highs and, at times, the lowest of lows only to triumph over life’s struggles to become an independent and self-reliant woman.
