An Evening with Stormrex | Amaegwu

On this episode of Exploring the Southeast Creative Industry, Ama Egwu hosts a special guest - STORMREX, an Afro-fusion/dance hall Igbo songwriter and artist. Stormrex started her music career with a group called the “Desperate Chicks" in 2007.

In her early days, she had collaborated with artists such as Flavour, Phyno, Olamide, Timaya, illbliss etc. Singing mainly in the Igbo dialect, Stormrex has a unique voice that resonates desirably with the music she creates. In 2016 she moved to California in United States where she continues to make music, that is a pure delight to her audience both at home and abroad.

Interviewed by Uche Okoye @UchePOkoye and Chuka Ufondu @StillChuka, Stormrex @StormrexOfficial takes the audience through her journey from her early days as an undergraduate of ESUT to becoming a star with hit songs.

Take out time to go stream her songs, and her videos.

"Exploring The Southeast Creative Industry" is a Twitter Space series by hosted by Ama Egwu (@AmaEgwu_) and Uche Okoye (@UchePOkoye) Fridays at 7pm. The recording of these sessions of deep conversations into the creative industry of the Southeast of Nigeria, the predominantly Igbo region, is what you are listening to.

Do follow us across social media and YouTube (@AmaEgwu_).
