Caity On Creating Art And Fashion For Everyone And Every Body

In this week’s episode I sat down with Caity. Caity is the founder of her own fashion brand where she repurposes thrifted garments and enhances them with her signature free-motion embroidery. Her work is best described as wearable art, incorporating appliqué and embroidery featuring nature-inspired and character-driven motifs. We discuss her being a designer with dwarfism in the fashion industry and how she is making space for her, what the industry is missing when it comes to designing for little people's bodies, creating without perceived limits and much, much more.

All proceeds from purchasing this episode will be split between City Harvest and Food Bank For NYC.

Aubrey Smalls On Defining What It Means To Simply Be And Celebrate Being A Little Person

In this week’s episode I welcomed back Aubrey Smalls. Aubrey is an actor, filmmaker, and content creator with dwarfism who uses his platforms to educate people about what it means to be a little person and dwarfism history. October is a month for celebration in the dwarfsim community, so we wanted to take the time to discuss how we will be celebrating as well as have a conversation about how being a person with dwarfism is perceived and defined in 2025. Oh, and my mom, Audrey Curwin, makes a cameo appearance to highlight a little person who has left a lasting legacy in our family and our community.

Ellie Simmonds On Changing The Narrative In And Out Of The Pool

In the 200th episode of Always Looking Up I sat down with Ellie Simmonds. Ellie is a five-time Paralympic Champion and a fourteen time World Champion in the sport of para swimming. Ellie shot to fame when she won her first Paralympic Gold medal at just 13 years old at the Beijing Paralympics and after that summer success was the youngest ever recipient of an MBE, an award from the Queen at the age of 14. She then became an OBE after her home Paralympics in 2012. After announcing her retirement from the pool in 2021 she has transitioned to tv/documentary work with three documentaries to her name with My Secret Family being an awarded a BAFTA in 2024.

We discuss her journey to the Paralympics, why we are still talking about the London 2012 Games in 2025, her transition from champion to documentarian, how she decides on the stories she wants to tell and much, much more.

Jen Montzingo On Simply Being Herself In An Average-Height World

Trigger Warning: In this episode we do discuss sensitive topics related to mental health such as addiction and self harm. If these are triggers for you please feel free to skip this episode.

In this week’s episode I sat down with Jen Montzingo. Jen is proud to serve in Los Angeles local politics in various ways such as serving on the North Hollywood Neighborhood Council and sitting on the Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics Advisory Board on Accessibility for the upcoming 2028 Games. She has big aspirations for more public speaking while also being obsessed with her two mini goldendoodles and greenhouse cabinet of rare tropical plants. We have a candid and vulnerable conversation about simply being a little person or person with dwarfism in an average-height world.
