Age care success depends on the quality of the people within it!
Compassion is a critical component if we want to achieve an industry that can be successful, sustainable and caring.
These are our goals, and without compassion from the top down, there is serious doubt we will ever achieve this.
Are people sick and tired of seeing and reading about a lack of caring in the industry built on the back of care? I think that's a big yes!!
We require leadership that is underpinned by compassion, connection and relationship building.
If you're a leader and you think this isn't possible and it won't happen, please email or DM me with why this is the case and what you are going to do about it. I would love to hear it.
Our staff are crying out for compassion, connection and relationships.
Give them a reason to be proud of you (leader) and the organisation they serve.
Ethan has been in aged care for the best part of 5 years. He has seen and experienced a lot in that time, which has shaped him into the serving care worker he is today. Ethan started with limited experience, but what he did have were compassion and motivation, and that still drives him today.
Lez recently shared this audio with the Frontline Wolf Pack Facebook group - asking the question about the amount of managing and the amount of leading frontline managers are having to do in their roles right now?
The role of an Aged Care Frontline Manager is constantly evolving and has done so for many years.
In today's episode, Lez talks about the percentages or ratios of Manager and Leader in the frontline manager roles. i.e. how much of your role is taken up by management tasks and how much is taken up by leadership tasks.
What are your percentages?
Does the difference in percentages impact you and your role?
What do you think is the best percentage of each in your role?
Does this balance work for you or not?
Lez talks about this issue and expands on the roles in aged care and asks if this is a consideration to help improve the Aged Care System.
