hi friends! Welcome back to another episode of a work in progress the podcast! In this episode, I’m sharing a major breakthrough as I step back into my MCAT studying season. For a long time, I allowed fear and self-doubt to overshadow my potential, but today I’m declaring that those days are over. The MCAT, for me, has been more than just an exam—it’s been a battleground of spiritual warfare. But now, with God by my side, I’m rejecting fear and embracing the truth: *I’m smarter than that.* Last episode, we talked about not sacrificing the future for temporary comfort, and this ties directly into that theme. I’m choosing to make the hard, intentional decisions now so that no test or challenge will hold power over me in the form of anxiety or self-doubt. This time, with God, will be the best and the last time. Tune in as I reflect on this breakthrough and encourage you to face your own battles with faith, courage, and confidence.

When God Says No
hi friends! Welcome back to another episode of a work in progress the podcast! Thank you so much for sticking with me for this 3-part series of my last pageant diaries! I had no idea I could talk for 6 hours about this topic, but apparently, I’ve been just that impacted by this crazy world that is the pageant industry! Thankfully I was able to cut it down and split it up, but wow, hearing my whole story makes me realize how much of a journey pageantry has been for me. I hope you enjoyed all the episodes in this series and my vulnerability at large. I hope something from my story, my experiences or my thoughts and opinions helps you chase and accomplish your dreams!

A Work in Progress: My Personal and Professional Development Diary
my villain origin story
hi friends! Welcome back to another episode of a work in progress the podcast! Today we are doing my last pageant diary! And boyyyy is this going to be a good episode. Villain origin stories are a Hollywood trend that uses pop psychology and societal issues to explain a character's descent into villainy. They help audiences understand a character's motivations and predict their future actions. This podcast including topics such as the impact of a role model on my personal aspirations, an empowering message to pageant girls and women, navigating the politics and hierarchy in campus pageantry, navigating setbacks and disappointments in college extracurricular activities, my redemption journey through pageants in college, trusting in God’s higher plan and divine intervention and even a couple of secret pageants! As I was creating the manuscript and thinking about what I wanted to share I decided to do a TELL ALL! There’s actually so much that you all don’t know about my pageant experience, so I’m going to share my full pageant story today. Sit back and enjoy me reminiscing, spilling tea and giving context to my villain origin story!

BEWARE of the GLAMOROUS Gap Year!
hi friends! in today's video we have the a work in progress podcast episode number 24 where I talk about my second (spring) semester in my pre-medical school program at meharry medical college, aka med school bootcamp! I’ll discuss everything from my program being virtual, my first impression vs end of semester thoughts and feelings, study groups, the program schedule (daily, quiz, exams), the classes I took and their difficulty, the professors, GPA, the MCAT and more! For those of you all following in my footsteps or taking advice from my journey, it is my duty as your digital big sister and mentor to share with you, what I wish I would’ve known before entering into a new season, especially these pivotal gap years. It may not be perfect, or pretty, but you don’t have to have all of the answers right now and that is okay. It may not be good right now, but it will be good eventually because God causes all things to work together for our good and some of those ways are by how these experiences are shaping us for the professional student and ultimately the greater human we are becoming.

STOP Projecting your insecurities onto other people
Today we are going to talk about projecting your insecurities onto other people. I thought about this topic out of pure frustration that I’ve received from my mentors and other well meaning counselors who unknowingly discourage me on my journey to medicine. Take a listen to how this plays out in my life, why it frustrates me, and how I deal with it.

ARRESTING MY ASSUMPTIONS
The next season of my life is literally unpredictable. Instead of worrying and overplanning, stressing out on how I can make the perfect plan happen, I’m arresting my assumptions that I know what’s best for me, and trusting God. This is completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m learning to let go and let God, and surrendering, because ultimately, things are going to work out according to His plan, and the bible says if we believe, it will be exceedingly and abundantly more than I could ever dream, ask or imagine.
