This episode contains SO MUCH GOODNESS! Not only are we serenaded by Broadway actor Matthew Griffin, experience lots of laughter, we also get a look into his career and faith journey so far. I was super encouraged and I know you will be too!
Matthew was last seen in the play THE COLLABORATION on Broadway starring Jeremy Pope and Paul Bettany. Prior to production, he was a member of the hit show, TINA— THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL on Broadway. During his time in Tina, he has been featured in multiple upcoming theater projects, along with guest star appearances in tv shows including The Godfather of Harlem on Epix and Inventing Anna on Netflix. Matthew’s next adventure leads him to a new play off-Broadway (currently unannounced). This all follows his experience of being an educator for three years before jumping into the arts. Outside of his career he is active in his church, loves fitness and discovering the best food joints in the neighborhood, writes music, and never ceases to learn about the world through experiences and mountains of books.

A multi-hyphenate anomaly! Veronica and I have known one another for a few years here in NYC - not only is she one of the BEST audition coaches (speaking as her client), just read her epic bio below for a whole lot of goodness. I appreciate Veronica’s heart, kindness, faith and generosity. We hope you’re encouraged by this episode.
Veronica Reyes-How is an award winning writer/actor/producer based in NYC. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A in Mathematics, she left a career in technology consulting to pursue acting when an open-call audition resulted in her booking the national tour of Rent. Other acting credits include Miss Saigon, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. CBS’ Blue Bloods, NBC’s The Blacklist, CBS’ Person of Interest, and ABC’s Alex Inc. She produced the short film California Roll, which was accepted into 10 film festivals around the country and won the Best Micro Thriller at the 2018 Austin Revolution Film Festival. As a director, she has worked for Theatreworks USA, The Barrow Group, and Unity Stage Company.
All of these roads lead to her love of writing original narratives. Through a string of recommendations, Veronica was hired to write a pilot by an independent producer. The reading of said pilot went so well, the budget went up and she was asked to make a 6 episode series. This is under a SAG MLB contract and goes into production in June 2023. This is her first tv series writing credit, hopefully not her last.
Also last year, she was invited into the Sesame Street Fellowship. After completing it, she was hired by MathTalk to be the Head writer and architect of the world and stories for their animated kids series, combining her love of writing, mathematics, education and comedy.
Outside of work, she’s a poker enthusiast (only to use her math skills, not for money!), loves to play tennis and watch animal videos with her husband and their 13 year old chihuahua, Fergus.

Amanda and Alli grew up as neighbors from the age of 8 years old! Years later Alli would capture Andrew and Amanda’s wedding, later featured in The New York Times, Vogue, Page Six and more. In this episode Alli and Amanda interview one another! From wedding tips to career pivots, from family to faith, from childhood until now. Please enjoy and give us a rate, review & subscribe!
Alli is an award winning wedding and portrait photographer serving all of the U.S. and abroad. You’ve seen her featured on TheKnot.com as a repeated recipient of their “Best Of” awards! Norway remains her favorite photography location to date. This year's schedule is currently bringing her to Memphis, Philadelphia, and all the way to Maine. Her career did not start here, though. Alli graduated college with a TV degree and worked in Los Angeles for 10 years before moving closer to family to make her wedding business full time. She worked on shows such as The Doctors, Jersey Shore, Cold Case Files, and others. Weddings and portraits began as a creative outlet from what was a very stressful TV environment. It was a chance for family and storytelling to fill her cup while living far from home. It reconnected her to friends and provided a fulfilling challenge. With time, this hobby has morphed into the most meaningful career decision she could have made.
