The last few months have been very rocky. At the beginning of April I lost my cousin. He was only 26 years old. Prior to that, I was also grieving a lot of relationships that have come to an end due to misalignment. All of these heavy feelings most of them unplanned, we’re put on a plate for me to deal with. My usual approach would be to self soothe and avoid feeling all the feelings, but I’ve chosen this time around to sit with them and process them as best as I can.
This episode takes a look into being vulnerable and the importance of it especially when we want to create connections and foster safe spaces for ourselves. Vulnerability allows us to be our true authentic selves, instead of trying to please others. And contrary to popular belief, there is so much strength in being vulnerable.
Episode 1 aims to highlight how truly powerful the people and things around us can be as well as to encourage us to fully utilize them to help each other along the way. Many times we ignore the power behind the people and things that are within our reach. The popular Jamaican proverb “tun yu han mek fashion” simply means, using what you have to do “the impossible”, regardless of how the odds may seem like they are stacked against you.
