What is a diphthong? Simply defined, a diphthong is a combination of vowels that together create a particular sound. They usually combine the sounds of two or more vowels. As you probably already know, English has some weird spellings and it can be hard to guess how to pronounce words. In this episode, I'll introduce you to the 7 main diphthongs in English with examples to try and help you make a better guess at how to pronounce a new word!
