In this episode of Five Minute Meditations for Kids, we continue our Feelings and Emotions series with a gentle guided meditation on sadness.
Sadness is a feeling that every child experiences—whether it’s missing a friend, feeling left out, being disappointed, or simply having a hard day. This meditation helps kids understand that sadness is a normal and healthy emotion, and gives them simple tools to recognize, name, and process their feelings in a safe way.
Through calming breaths, gentle guidance, and mindful reflection, your child will learn:
✨ How sadness might feel inside the body (heaviness, watery eyes, quiet voice)
✨ That it’s okay to cry and express their emotions
✨ How to say out loud what they’re feeling (“I feel sad because…”)
✨ That sadness doesn’t last forever—and they are always safe and loved
This short meditation can be a comforting practice for kids who are learning how to navigate their emotions, especially during big transitions like going back to school, moving, or dealing with friendship changes.
Perfect for bedtime, after school, or anytime your child feels sad, this episode will help them feel seen, supported, and cared for.
