The average American household today has 300,000 items. Consumer spending makes up around 70% of economic activity in the US today, which keeps business booming but can lead to mental disarray. Studies show clutter and overconsumption can lead to increased cortisol. We talk about our own battles with overconsumption and where this human need to accumulate things originated.
