Each page in Vasil's archive not only confirms known facts and events about him but, in a manner unique to manuscripts, they add to his story depth and nuance — revealing the subtle hues of time and intricate details often overlooked in complex texts written by academics and critics. Zlatyu Boyadzhiev's story is marked by several painful events, but one specific incident serves as a defining moment in his life and artistic journey. Although they share a common theme, the two phases in Zlatyu's creative work radically differ in his drawing style.
Since childhood, he has been drawn to the fields, the massive and smooth curves of the Rhodope Mountains, people, and animals. Many childhood memories will later find a place in his paintings.

Историята на Златю Бояджиев е белязана от няколко болезнени събития, но един конкретен инцидент служи като разграничителна линия в неговия живот и художествен път. Въпреки че споделят обща тема, двете фази в творчеството на Златю се различават радикално в стила му на рисуване. Още от дете го привличат полето, масивните и плавни извивки на Родопите, хората и животните. Много от гледките от детството по-късно ще намерят място в картините му.

На 24 ноември 1896 г. в Пловдив се ражда едно от най-значимите лица на българското изобразително изкуство - Цанко Лавренов. Александър-Стефан Иванов Лавренов или Цанко, както му казват на галено, е героят във втория епизод на поредицата.
Тръгваме по калдаръмените улици на Стария град - тази пъстра мозайка, контурираща лицето на любимия град под тепетата. Град на художници. Град на Цанко Лавренов. 💛
🖼️ Тънка нишка между мозайките, архитектурата и картините на Пловдив ще ни накара да видим изкуството на Лавренов като пресечна точка между археология, история и писане. И ако трябва да определим този епизод с една дума, то тя е… пластове.
⛰️ Пловдив е многопластов във всяко отношение. Творчеството на Цанко Лавренов - също. За да разберем и Пловдив, и Цанко, е нужно да ги погледнем вертикално. Сякаш правим археологически разкопки. Дълбаем, изследваме, кривим в разни посоки, а историите сякаш нямат край!
Именно в такива своеобразни разкопки се впускаме във втория епизод на Контури.

On November 24, 1896, in Plovdiv, one of the most significant figures in Bulgarian visual arts was born - Tsanko Lavrenov. Alexander-Stefan Ivanov Lavrenov, or Tsanko as he is fondly called, is the protagonist in the second episode of the series.
We stroll through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town - this vibrant mosaic outlining the face of the beloved city under the hills. A city of artists. A city of Tsanko Lavrenov. 💛
🖼️ A delicate thread between the mosaics, architecture, and paintings of Plovdiv will make us see Lavrenov's art as a crossroads between archaeology, history, and writing. And if we have to define this episode with one word, it is... layers. ⛰️ Plovdiv is multilayered in every aspect. Tsanko Lavrenov's art is too. To understand both Plovdiv and Tsanko, we need to look at them vertically. It's like doing archaeological excavations. We dig, explore, swirl in different directions, and the stories seem endless! It is in such unique excavations that we delve into the second episode of Contours.

Роден посред зимата на 1882 г., само 4 години след създаването на Третата българска държава, Владимир пораства и се формира като творец при особено турболентен за българската история период.
Днес разказът за един от най-популярните ни худжници е всъщност история за едно тихо и скромно на вид момче, родено в семейство на бежанци. Същото това момче, обаче, расте във времена на войни, въстания и смяна на политически режими. По случайност се запалва по рисуване и решава, че живописта е неговото нещо в живота.
Този прочит прави историята за Майстора много по-близка до всеки от нас. История, в която можем да намерим искра, която да запали нова идея за проект или да освети пътя, когато се загубим в творческия процес.

Born in the middle of the winter of 1882, only 4 years after the establishment of the Third Bulgarian State, Vladimir grew up and was formed as an artist during a particularly turbulent period in Bulgarian history.
Today, the story of one of Bulgaria's most popular artists is actually a story of a quiet and modest-looking boy born in a refugee family. This same boy, however, grew up in times of wars, uprisings, and changes in political regimes. By chance, he became interested in painting and decided that painting was his thing in life.
This perspective makes the story of the Master much more relatable to each of us. A story where we can find a spark to ignite a new project idea or illuminate the path when we get lost in the creative process.
