A Call to Covenant Renewal (Nehemiah 9:1–38)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng taught that rebuilding physical walls is half the battle; God rebuilds spiritual walls by His Word. In Nehemiah 9 people fasted in corporate confession—remembering God’s faithfulness, admitting failures, and renewing covenant obedience. True repentance looks back at His mercy and forward in obedience. What covenants—or areas of life—is God calling you to renew with Him?

The Walls are Up... Now What? (Nehemiah 8:1–18)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang showed how Nehemiah 8 spotlights the Law’s relevance as the people asked for the Book, reverence for the Law and its Giver as they stood and worshipped, and response to the Law in repentance, joy, and obedience. Our inner wall — our relationship with the Lord — must be rebuilt with the Word of God. How does God’s Word function in your life — will you hear it, trust and obey it, and know Him more deeply today?

Finishing Strong, Remembering Why (Nehemiah 6:1–16)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng taught that amid opposition and exhaustion we stay focused on God’s call. When distraction, slander, intimidation came, Nehemiah prayed and stood firm: “I am doing a great work, and I cannot come down.” The wall was finished in 52 days. Will we resist distraction, remember why we build, and persevere to finish for God’s glory?

Fixing the Heart to Fix the Wall (Nehemiah 5:1–19)

This week, Rev Dr William Chang reminded us that the heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9) and can bring destruction from within, often more than any external threat. Even after returning from exile, the Jews once again oppressed the weak and needy among them. Nehemiah confronted this injustice with righteous anger and godly fear. Yet despite their confessions, Nehemiah 13 reveals that many hearts remained unchanged. What about us today? God calls us to repent, confess our sins, and fix our hearts first—to rebuild the broken walls in our lives.

Working with a Trowel and a Sword (Nehemiah 4:1–23)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng taught that opposition and discouragement are inevitable, but God calls us to persevere with faith and vigilance. Facing ridicule from Sanballat and Tobiah and discouragement within, Nehemiah chose to pray, set a guard, and remember the Lord. Let us lift our voices to Him, stay vigilant in His Word and prayer, persevere by remembering the Lord, and fight with trowel and sword in spiritual warfare and steadfastness.

How Then Shall We Build? (Nehemiah 3:1–32)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang reminded us that rebuilding begins with the first things first. God must be in His rightful place. The Christian submits to God with the right heart attitude—humility and obedience. The resources for rebuilding are found within God’s community. Are we aligning with these principles as we rebuild the broken walls of our church and lives?

Praying, Planning, and Proceeding (Nehemiah 2:1–20)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng showed us that faith-filled prayer must lead to Spirit-led planning and courageous action. Nehemiah prayed continually, made detailed plans, and trusted God’s favour for success. What broken walls in our lives is God calling us to rebuild, and how can we pray continually, plan strategically, and proceed courageously in faith?

The Burden of a Broken Wall (Nehemiah 1:1–11)
This week, Brother Lim Geok Seng challenged us with Nehemiah’s burden for the broken walls of Jerusalem, a symbol of God’s people’s disgrace and spiritual weakness. Nehemiah wept, confessed sin, and prayed passionately, identifying with his people. What “broken walls” do we see around us—and will we let the burden move us from passive onlookers to compassionate concern, fuelled by prayers and action in God’s strength?

Looking Back to Discern the Journey Forward (Psalm 100:4–5)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang reminded us that God’s goodness and faithfulness have carried Yishun Christian Church (Lutheran) through forty years, just as He sustained Jesus through forty days of trial and empowered His disciples for mission. As we give thanks for His provision, will we avail ourselves to grow in holiness and multiply by reaching out to touch lives?

The Lord Who Sees and Looses (Luke 13:10–17)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng reminded us that sin bends and burdens us, leaving hearts curved inward and bound. Yet Jesus sees, frees, and restores us, breaking every chain and calling us to glorify God with lifted hearts. Now that we are loosed, will we loose others still bound and lead them back to our living God?

A Radical Call to Holiness – Action and Restoration (Ezra 10)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang reminded us that true repentance is costly but necessary. Holiness means putting God first, living a life set apart for Him, and quickly returning, rebuilding, and renewing our covenantal relationship when we sin. As we conclude Ezra, what tangible steps of repentance and restoration is God calling you to take today?

Confronting Compromise – Holiness and Repentance (Ezra 9)
This week, Brother Lim Geok Seng reminded us that because God is holy, spiritual compromise is faithlessness—when we fail to fear Him and disobey His commands. Ezra recognised sin for what it was, grieving deeply and confessing on behalf of the people. Where have we compromised God’s standards—and how will we pursue holiness in a compromising world?

Journeying by Faith – Trusting God’s Protection (Ezra 7:11–8:36)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng reminded us that the journey of faith is often risky and vulnerable. Ezra chose trust over military might, relying on God through prayer and fasting. God is faithful to protect and provide. What steps of faith is God calling you to take—and will you trust Him completely in prayer?

Becoming an Authentic Spiritual Community (Ezra 7:1–10)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang reminded us that authentic church life—vital for spiritual meaningfulness and preservation—is built on God’s Word. Ezra modelled studying, obeying, and teaching Scripture. In a world where hearts curve inward, will we prioritise God’s Word together and become a community shaped by His truth and grace?

Opposition and Perseverance – Building through Resistance (Ezra 4–6)
This week, Brother Lim Geok Seng reminded us that opposition often arises when we do God’s work. Discouragement and fear can derail us, but God’s providential hand works even through unexpected means to protect His purposes. Let us persevere and trust God’s promises, cultivating faith even in setbacks and resistance.

Laying the Foundation – The Joy and Tears of Rebuilding (Ezra 3:1–13)
This week, Preacher Allan Ng reminded us that rebuilding begins with true worship—re-establishing our relationship with God. True worship involves both joy and sorrow as we reflect on God’s faithfulness and our past. Laying foundations is hard but essential with vital united effort. What foundations must we lay or restore today to pursue authentic worship?

A Call To Return, Rebuild, Renew – Sermon 1: The Stirring of God’s Spirit – A New Beginning (Ezra 1–2)
This week, Rev Dr William Chang opened our new series in Ezra, showing how God stirs hearts—even in impossible circumstances—to fulfil His promises. From kings to commoners, God moves His people to respond in obedience and sacrifice. As we value our spiritual heritage, consider: what is God stirring in your heart today—and where is He calling you to begin again?

Living in Christ's Freedom (Galatians 5:1, 13–25)
This week, Rev Richard Chiu reminded us that we are justified by faith through grace and called to live in the freedom Christ has won. True freedom is not self-serving but Spirit-led—empowering us to love and serve others. Let us keep in step with the Spirit and proclaim the gospel in word and deed.

This week, Preacher Allan Ng reminded us that only Jesus brings true healing, hope, and wholeness. He forgives our sins and reconciles us to God. His love is personal and powerful, calling us to live as grateful witnesses of His grace. Like the healed man, let us boldly declare all that God has done for us.

The Work of the Holy Spirit (John 16:12–15)

This week, we reflect on Jesus’ promise of the Holy Spirit — the One sent to guide us into all truth and to glorify Christ. Though Jesus would soon leave His disciples, He assured them that His departure was for their benefit. In His place, the Helper would come: not a distant force, but a constant and personal presence, dwelling in us, helping us in our weakness, and making Jesus real and glorious to us each day.

The Spirit never points to Himself, but always leads us to see Jesus, know Jesus, and live for Jesus.
