This episode of World of Drugs talks about suicide a great deal and utilizes journalism articles and opinions to discuss whether or not the suicides were authentic or carried out by covert forces in Russian politics under the direction of Vladimir Putin. This is not meant to diminish victims of suicide, families who have had a loved one commit suicide, or those who experience suicidal ideation in their daily lives. It is meant to demonstrate that learning about the issues with drug dealers, political leaders, and cartels across the world is important and something that should be paid attention to because it can reveal a plethora of problems that people are dealing with on a daily basis. – dr joe

The Xalisco Boys are a group of business minded heroin peddlers from the town of Xalisco in the state of Nayarit. Not so much a cartel as a business strategy, the Xalisco Boys pioneered a new method of profiting in the drug trafficking world: delivery. In what is perhaps the darkest form of laissez faire, by acting as both the source and the mobile storefront the Xalisco Boys were able to quickly expand across America, using basic marketing strategies to become what many addicts have called “the best dealers they’d ever seen.” Unfortunately, their rise also coincided with the beginning of the opioid epidemic, and what resulted was a dangerous self-replicating style of retail drug trafficking, operating on a national scale from an individual level.
