What the Forensics
Ep. 108 - The Happy Face Killer: Keith Jesperson

In this episode we discuss the Happy Face Killer Keith Jesperson and his horrific crimes. This case is really strange because there were two random individuals who claimed that they killed one of his victims but actually had zero relation to him or the victim. Weird, right?! And you'll notice that in the thumbnail there are photos of 2 of his victims, one who recently was identified and the other who still has not been identified so take a look at her and see if you recognize her! We also discuss genetic genealogy and how it was used to identify most of his victims and it was really cool to learn some specifics surrounding that science. Let us know if you learned something new with this episode.

We did have some technical difficulties with this episode so there is no video attached. Not sure what happened but we thank you for your continued support & patience💙

Ep. 107 - What Happened to Laci Peterson?

In this episode we discuss the disappearance and murder of Laci & her unborn son Conner Peterson. This case is especially heartbreaking because it involves the death of a 8-month pregnant mother and her spouse is the most likely suspect. It's wild that there is no physical evidence connecting Laci's husband to her murder and him & his family, to this day, proclaim his innocence. Listen if you can, it's a crazy story.

What the Forensics
Ep. 102 - Ted Bundy: Heinous, Atrocious, and Cruel

Extremely wicked, shockingly evil and vile are words we've all heard describe Ted Bundy. This episode we discuss Ted Bundy's heinous crimes and the lives of his victims before they were murdered. His killing spree supposedly began in January 1974 and went until February 1978 when he was finally apprehended. We discuss his escapes from jail (yes, escapes plural), his trials (yes, trials plural), and the bitemark evidence that finally put him away. Unfortunately, we don't delve into the "science" of forensic odontology since we covered it in Episode 25, so if you care to learn more about the inaccuracy of bitemark evidence you can go listen to that episode.

There is a listener’s discretion advised as there are detailed descriptions of assault, sexual assault and some of his victims were children. Even though he was a necrophile, we did not go into that.

She tells us stories about people who have survived them and were found not guilty for whichever crime they were brought there for. If you've ever wanted to know more about CIA activity in places similar to Guantanamo Bay, this is the episode for you.

There are conversations of torture and state sanctioned violence so listen with care.

What the Forensics
Ep. 100 - WTF?! That's So Strange...

That's suspicious....

This episode we discuss the Oakville Blobs, Bigfoot, and the Dyatlov Pass incident. These three topics create an episode you don't want to miss!! Oh! And it's also our 100th episode!! Thank you so much for your continued support. We wouldn't be here without you!! Here's to at least 100 more ❤️

On August 7, 1994, Oakville, Washington experienced some weird gelatinous rain. These blobs were uniform in shape and cause human & animal sicknesses. Over the next month it happened 7 more times, only in Oakville. Luckily, the next 7 rainfalls didn't cause any illnesses in humans or animals. Even weirder, the samples collected disappeared so no one knows what these blobs were.

Bigfoot, a cryptid that is a common character in American & Canadian folklore. He has been seen off and on since the 1800s in North America and there have been sightings all over the world under different names. There are many different types of Bigfoot, some of which we explore in this episode.

Ten experienced ski hikers, 8 men and 2 women, set out to embark on a 14 day expedition in the northern Ural Mountains in Russia on January 27, 1959. They never returned and the investigation into their deaths has been weird, to say the least. Between radioactive clothing, unexplained injuries, and a guy wearing two watches stopped at two different times, this story is wild!!
