Today we are talking about - John Mayer. I’m not going to go after his entire catalog, I’m here to discuss just one of his records: the search for everything. I believe this is a highly underrated record and I’m gonna have a great time explaining why.

Today we are talking about Ben Rector I’ve been a fan of Ben’s for many years now. I’ve been a little hesitant to dive into his music on the podcast, but after his much anticipated release ‘the joy of music,’ I could not resist a full episode on him.

Jason is a singer songwriter from Alabama. I firmly believe he’s one of the greatest songwriters to ever walk the earth. Jason and his band, ‘the four hundred unit.’ Released their newest record called ‘reunions.’ Jason has been a long time favorite of mine and I’m excited to talk about his music with you.

What Are You Listening To: Chris Stapleton Today we are talking about Chris Stapleton A few months ago Chris Stapleton started releasing singles for his new record ‘starting over.’ It’s been 3 years since we’ve had a record from Chris. I had planned to release this Stapleton episode before it came out. I’m glad I waited. His new record is out and available everywhere. I must admit that at first I thought this was a bit of a mediocre release for him but after a few listens through, this may be my favorite Stapleton record. I’m going to give you my take on Chris Stapleton minus this new record and at the end I’ll share with you some of my favorites and highlights from ‘starting over’.

Ben Rector released a new single. It’s an acoustic version of his last single called ‘it would be you.’ Not only is this an acoustic version but it’s also a duet with Ingrid Michaelson. I’ve not yet done episodes on either of these artists. That’s certainly in the cards down the road. Rector released the original version of this song back towards the beginning of this pandemic. It’s about the world ending and all of us being stuck somewhere with just one person. It’s really a love song of sorts.

The killers just released a brand new album called ‘imploding the mirage’ - this thing is great! It’s a follow up to ‘wonderful wonderful’ which was also amazing. I heard them when they first came out in 2004 with mr Brightside. The sound was amazing. It was synth rock with come goth influence plus whatever dave was doing on guitar. You could hear Ronnie’s skills shining through from the first record (hot fuss). His drumming is passionate. I later rediscovered them through a coworker around their ‘day and age’ record. Each killers song tells such a massive story. Brandon as a frontman: live shows are incredible When Brandon sings, I believe him.
