Fungie was a bottleneck dolphin who lived in Dingle Harbour for nearly 40 years and took Ireland by solar flare with his gregarious habit of coming right up to boats to say hello! Fungie brought a lot of tourism and business to Dingle and even folk who went to him for his supposed healing powers, until he vanished in 2020.
So while we was down there in Dingle for Paddys Day we met Jamie Ó Flannúra, who's seen and worked alongside Fungie all his life on the Dingle boats.

Father Ted is probably the most influential and iconic Irish comedy TV show so far. So much so that there's an annual festival to celebrate the 30 year old programme on Inis Mór, County Galway where attendees dress up like priests and nuns, deep lore references to the show dictate the rituals of the convention, and absurdity becomes the normality for a weekend.
So I chatted to Peter Philips, one of the organisers of the 18 year old event since it's beginning, to learn all about it.
