Weaving Beings: Conversations with The Lissome
Michael Meade on Re-Centring Myth in the Age of the Machine

How do we stay rooted when the world feels as if it’s unravelling, and what new forms of wisdom can emerge from mythic imagination?

In this episode of Weaving Beings Season Two, host Hardeep Kaur is joined by storyteller, mythologist and elder Michael Meade for a conversation about finding meaning in liminal times. From his childhood discovery of myth to his lifelong work with mythology and ritual, Michael reflects on how collapse and renewal are twin movements in the story of life. Together, they explore the language of myth as a guide for clarity of vision and courage, the importance of creative and contemplative practice as an anchor, and the remembering that we are each a thread of genius in the great weaving of the world.

Weaving Beings: Conversations with The Lissome
Anna Roos van Wijngaarden on Travelling with Questions and Learning from the Forest

In this episode of Weaving Beings, Season Two, host Hardeep Kaur is joined by writer and sustainability journalist Anna Roos van Wijngaarden to explore the delicate art of listening – as a writer, as a traveller and as a guest on the land. The conversation traces Anna’s recent journey into the Peruvian Amazon, where she met designers and researchers working with native materials like kapok and shiringa, fibres that hold the potential to regenerate the ecosystems they come from.

Together, they speak about authorship, relational knowledge and the tension between regenerative intention and systemic extraction. Anna reflects on what it means to move at the pace of trust, to write with integrity and to observe without taking.

From textile rituals in the rainforest to her own daily practices of presence and care, this episode offers a reflection on the responsibilities of storytelling and the value of slowing down.

Weaving Beings: Conversations with The Lissome
Lily Cole on Living in Alignment and Reclaiming the Power of Story

How do we live in alignment when the world feels out of balance — and what becomes possible when we do?

In this episode of Weaving Beings Season Two, host Hardeep Kaur is joined by writer, filmmaker, and cultural thinker Lily Cole for a conversation that moves between early activism and spiritual presence, from fashion runways to forest stillness. Together, they explore the power of storytelling as a vessel for nuance and listening in a time of polarisation, and reflect on how practising peace and optimism in our own lives is one of the most radical things we can do right now. With references to Rumi and Ram Dass, the ecology of interconnection, and the tension between clarity and complexity, this episode invites listeners into a slower, more thoughtful pace — one that encourages a deeper form of agency, grounded not in reaction, but in care.

Weaving Beings: Conversations with The Lissome
Dörte de Jesus on Crafting a Magazine Around Resilience, Care and Community

In this opening episode, host Hardeep Kaur is joined by Dörte de Jesus, founder and editor-in-chief of The Lissome, who introduces the core theme of the new edition: resilience. In this thoughtful and expansive exchange, Dörte shares what led her to explore resilience and offers an intimate look into the creative process behind the magazine. From curating contributors and selecting interviewees like Lily Cole and Michael Meade, to directing a regenerative fashion shoot in Portugal, she reflects on how this issue came to life, how it redefined her understanding of resilience, and what it means for the future of fashion and community.

You’ll also hear reflections on the magazine-making process itself – how each edition is woven intuitively and in community, and how the magazine as a craft artefact in itself represents the values of The Lissome.
