Most people have never heard of the Tulsa Massacre. One of the most horrendous events US citizens did to fellow US citizens, but we must not forget what it taught us. They burned down Black Wallstreet because of their fear. As the African proverb goes, when the lion learns to write its own history, it will be different than the hunter’s story. Power dynamics can be seen in political and civil systems. So we wrap up our series on surviving corona. All we have discussed is linked to accountability. We must return the power back into our hands. We must acknowledge the agency we have over the situations we find our selves in. It is easy to blame someone or something else for our problems; however, what does that accomplish? It only strips away our power because we can not control other people. We must get in a frame of mind of us being backed in a corner. There is no rescue team coming. However, things become hopeful. Even if we do not survive, we choose the state of mind we will be in. We choose our happiness. We can live in a prison in our heads or we can live in a paradise. Plus, a cornered animal fights a lot harder.
If you are not happy right now, it is your fault. What, how can I be so inconsiderate?! Who should I blame then so that we can actually get solutions? We can point at everybody but lasting change only occurs when we start taking the needed actions, no one can do it for us. So when we make it our fault, the power is returning into our hands. That is why becoming self-aware is so important. Through struggle, discomfort, and adversity, we can become self-aware and start making proactive decisions instead of reactive. We don't even have to be the one that has to go through it. We can learn from the problems of others. See how you can become self-aware and why it is needed to survive in today's podcast.
Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. I know, I know. Things aren't looking so great right now, but we need to get mad grateful. Try smiling and frowning at the same time, I'll wait.......go on, try it. You can't, gratitude does the same thing for our energy. It is hard to hold negative thoughts when we are meditating on our blessings. We will see the world in a whole different light. So please, count your blessings, write down 50 things you are grateful for, to hard, write down 50 things you are not grateful for and you will see things you can be grateful for. I'm sick, okay, I'm grateful that I am not sick.... and so on. I'll start, I am grateful that you will listen to this podcast.
We are still on the topic of surviving corona. How can you survive if you do.....not....belive...........YOU WILL?! Is someone coming to save you without you putting in the work? To survive we need to believe we will survive. This is not something we can leave to chance. Create your future. As life gives you the raw materials, craft out your survival. As the saying goes, the one who believes they can and the one who believes they can't tend to both be right. So you pick. Are you willing to win or die? Have faith, because living a life of doubt leads to a life of regret and that is worse than death.
A basic law of physics is that every reaction has an opposite reaction at the same time. This is a reality in life also, all bad brings good and vise versa. So all we need to do is shift our focus and become self-aware of all the opportunities happening right now. If we dwell on the negative, that's all we will be able to create. Therefore, focus on all the good that can happen and we will be able to make that can into a will. All the good things will happen.
