If you’re a business owner in Ontario, your financial plan could be overlooking a costly problem: probate fees.
In this episode, we explore a strategy that can save your family tens of thousands of dollars and keep your business running smoothly.
💡 What if a second will could help protect your wealth, reduce delays, and keep your affairs private?
Here’s what you’ll learn in this episode:
✅ What probate is, how it works in Ontario, and why it can be expensive for business owners
✅ How a secondary will can eliminate probate fees on private company shares
✅ Why this strategy can speed up business continuity and reduce delays for beneficiaries
✅ The added benefits of privacy and appointing different executors for personal vs. business assets
✅ Key limitations and why you must work with an experienced estate lawyer
⚠️ Caveat: This strategy isn’t available in every province (e.g., Nova Scotia doesn’t allow it), and it requires careful drafting by a lawyer with estate planning expertise.

Mike Cessario founded Liquid Death and it became a $700 million dollar business against all odds. The crazy thing is that Liquid Death is not some trendy energy drink - It’s canned water.
Now this isn’t the most conventional founder/CEO story. Mike grew up playing in punk rock and heavy metal bands and eventually became a graphic designer and advertising creative director.
While working on campaigns for big clients like Netflix, he learned tricks for capturing people's attention and getting them hooked on a product. But it wasn't until he noticed a subset of people in the hardcore music scene who were vocal about not drinking or doing drugs that he had his "a-ha" moment.
Combining this with a sneaky little trick he saw musicians doing with water in energy drink cans, Mike Cessario came up with the idea for the most hardcore water out there - Liquid Death.
This canned water with the tagline "murder your thirst" and features skulls and crazy designs. It became an instant hit. Being a true underdog, Mike took on the big guns in the water market dominated by billion-dollar companies.
Find out how he did it by learning about Mike Cessario and how he made Liquid Death a reality.

When Bob Parsons was growing up, no one seemed to think he’d amount to much.
He was born into a lower-middle-class family in Baltimore in the 50's. With parents who were gamblers (not the winning kind), he seriously lacked career role models. Bob failed the fifth grade, and just barely graduated high school (his teachers let him pass because he joined the marines).
None of that stopped him from starting two thriving businesses, which he sold for billions. It’s an amazing underdog victory story.
Check out this episode to learn how Bob made it happen.
