In this Episode we talk a bit about how to support the men in our lives, after they have attended an event like a men's conference.  Listen in to understand how to support without becoming a nag. We all spend a lot of time talking to others and about others.  Not all talk of others is gossip, but often it is. Gossip is secretly or carelessly talking evil about others, which potentially results in unjustly damaging their character. We invite you to listen in to this conversation, with an open heart.

My kids have quoted me as saying, "life get's better with every decade" and I still stand by that.  Every decade has deep trials and abundant blessing, but as we grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord, all of that is easier and all of that is better.  Listen in as I talk about turning 50.

We can easily fall into the trap of either being pursuers of pleasure, where all of life is about having fun and looking forward to the next "experience." Our goal in life is not to pursue pleasure but to pursue God, but we can enjoy the blessings of life, without guilt. Life in Christ is meant to be full of joy, but that is the end result of pursing God. Listen in to hear more!

How many of us think through why we do what we do?  For example, do we just eat what we grew up eating?  Do we grab what is quick?   5. When does healthy living become extreme or obsessive?  How can we use discernment in this area? 6. Where do you lean on this topic as far as parenting?   7. Who should we trust? 8. What do we need to know to have a righteous mindset of our bodies?

Listen in as we talk about what to know after you are married! 1. What are some root issues that cause trouble in marriage? 2. What are some red flags that women often overlook in dating? 3. When kids and babies are really little, moms are exhausted, how can wives and husbands make their marriage a priority? 4. What is a biblical way to approach your husband when you feel there is an issue or offense on his end without being disrespectful? 5. Do newer couples have similar problems as couples that have been together for a long time? 6. We discussed yoking last week and why we should marry someone who is equally yoked in their faith and moving in the same direction. As women we have been designed to be helpmates and life givers, but we also have a sin nature that seeks to dominate and control. We often have an inner battle that rages, because we want our husbands (or future husbands) to lead and protect us, but so often we get in the way of them.  To encourage our men to lead, we must step out of the way, pray for them, and ask them questions before decide for them.  Listen in to this and more, as we discuss the following questions: 1. For those who desire marriage and family, how do you live well as a single woman? 4. I used to wonder when I would meet “THE ONE”.  How do you know who to marry? 5. Is our only purpose as women to get married and have children? What if there is no desire to get married or have children? 6. How long should a single woman live in her parent’s home? 7.  How do you stay sexually pure for the long haul? 8. How do we navigate as parents of teens, how to help our daughters have a healthy view of dating and commitment and marriage?  Some young girls can get so obsessed with the idea of marriage, or waiting for that part of their life to happen, that they can’t fully serve the Lord where they are at.  Or it could even be the opposite, where there is too much pressure on our young people to meet and marry at a young age, that they don’t even want to try.

When it comes to anger, we tend to want to justify it, suppress it or believe it doesn't affect us.  However, anger is not just an outward act of rage, it can be an inward seething of hatred.  But not all anger is sinful, sometimes anger is the just response to evil.  So how do we know the difference? We hope that this episode will answer some of your questions, as we discuss the questions below" What is a biblical definition of anger? We read that Jesus was angry at times, and the bible tells us that God gets angry.  When is it ok to become angry? How would you differentiate between righteous anger and sinful anger? What is the wrath of God?  Is it something we only see in the Old Testament? Is it ok to be angry with God? Proverbs 19:11 “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense”  How do you know when to overlook an offense and when you should address it?    The bible tells us not to let the sun go down on our anger.  How do we practically live this out? If someone listening is having real trouble with anger and can’t seem to get it under control on their own - what would you recommend they do?

Join us on the episode as we collaborated with the A to Z Podcast with Abby and Zoey.  The two of them had joined us at a recent event we held "Rise Up for the Next Generation" Tween Event.  The theme had been "Seek First" with specialized topics of "Friendship" and "Emotions".  After the event, we asked for questions on these topics and asked Abby and Zoey to join us.  You are sure to have some laughs, but also be impacted by the depth of the answers that these young women give as we ask the following questions: 1. Abby and Zoey, what helps you manage your emotions during highly hormonal times and Susie, what advice do you have as a mom who has parented 2 girls through adolescence? 3. How do you handle being in the middle of two friends who don’t get along with each other?  There is a lot of drama between them, but I want to hang out with them both, but they don’t want to be around each other. 4. How do you talk to your friends about modesty at this age? Especially about crop tops and what to wear at church and kids club and middle school youth. 5. How do you have a good friendship with your siblings when they are in the “annoying” stage? 6. How do you handle a friend who is super negative? 7. When you become friends with a brand new believer, how do you help them to grow without feeling like you’re pointing out all the areas that need to change? 8. I have a friend who always talks about herself.  When I try to change the subject, she just brings it back to stories about herself that I’ve heard before.  How should I handle this?
