EPISODE 193: Horror Writers Round Table, Three drastically different Styles, Same Genre with Dacre Stoker, Casey Masterson and Rex Hurst

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 29:15

Horror novels... why are they all lumped together when there are so many different sub genres, yet in book stores or websites they are all in the same section, from gothic horror to comedy horror to splatter punk to classic horror and so on, should they all be considered the same, and if so, how can you build a fan base. Some are defiantly not for the young and some are made for the young, so why are they all on “the same shelf”

Today we welcome three horror writers from three vastly different styles, Casey Masterson, Rex Hurst and Dacre Stoker, we will discuss their views on how horror is marketed, how it should be and the future of the art form

EPISODE: 191: A Novel Look at the Romantic Writers with Professor and Author Chuck Rosenthal

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 29:45

Shelley, Keats, Byron and Beatriz? Beatriz, Who's Beatriz? Well the answer to that questions is the main character of the new time travel novel by the great Chuck Rosenthal Awake For Ever in a Sweet Unrest. But the real question is, who were Shelley, Byron and Keats, at least that's the question new students were asking (so sadly asking) at Loyola Marymount University, where Professor Rosenthal taught about the great romantics.

So a fresh idea was born, a time travel novel that could introduce a new generations of young readers to these legendary masters, and Chuck Rosenthal was just the man to do it!!

Professor Rosenthal is not only a great educator, but author of 14 novels, an ex cowboy, horse trainer, surfer and cross country motor cyclist (and that's just scratching the surface of his fascinating life), this will be a fun one folks!!

EPISODE 182: Phil Silvers: Burlesque, Broadway, Banana and Bilko With Steve Everitt the Co-owner/Founder of the Phil Silvers Archival Museum

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 35:55

Welcome back to our series on classic comedians, and this time we honor the life and career of the great Phil Silvers, who is as big as ever, in the UK??? Sadly he is grossly underappreciated and somewhat forgotten in his home land of the USA.

Phil Silvers was a comic who did it all and conquered it all, from his early days of vaudeville and burlesque, to Hollywood, to Broadway, to TV super stardom, BACK to Hollywood and Broadway, Phil Silvers dominated every field of comedy.

Silvers starred In Broadway classics like High Button Shoes, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum and his signature role of Jerry Biffle in the timeless hit Top Banana. In film he was in movies like 40 Pounds of Trouble, Follow That Camel and the classic It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, but it is probably his stint on TV as Master Sgt Ernie Bilko that Silvers will forever be associated with, Silvers character of Sgt. Bilko has left a lasting impression on comedy on both sides of the Atlantic.

Today we discuss the life and career of this legendary funnyman with Mr. Steve Everitt, a life long Silvers fan who co-founded the Phil Silvers Archival Museum and owner of the store Sgt. Bilko's Vintage Emporium. check out his store and museum and the Phil Silvers Archival Museum

The study of Jack the Ripper and the WhiteChapel murders, known as Ripperology, is a phenomenon in this era of true crime, but has been a global obsession for many decades, and one of the few things most "Ripperologist" will agree on, is Paul Begg is one of the most important names in the field. EPISODE 177: Clowning: The History of The Worlds Other Oldest Profession With World Renowned Clown and Clown Historian Dott Cotton

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 31:00

Oh Folks.. I am so excited for this show!! What is the history of the art of clowning, and how has it evolved over the years, and why is it different in America, The UK and the rest of the world

The clown can be dated as far back as 2400 BC and has served many roles in different cultures and civilizations, yet, to many, clowns are just silly circus performers, or pantomimist or something to scare the poop out of people with (thank you horror films). But the truth is, clowns serve a far more important role in history.

The amazing Dott Cotton joins us to discuss clowning thru history, and her career as a modern clown. She is a truly gifted performer who, in my opinion perfectly bridges the gap between vintage traditional English music hall clowning and modern entertainment. It is indeed a pleasure and a thrill to welcome her to the show.
