Welcome, my friends, to the Firepit in the heart of the forest for the season finale of Time Between Times. Following this episode, the podcast will be taking a break before returning on September 19th in a new format: hour-long episodes released monthly using the Format used for this one.
Any feedback on this new look would be most welcome ?.
Today, we journey to Ruthin Castle in north Wales to hear the tale of the White Lady of Ruthin, who wanders the corridors and battlements of that wonderful castle and is still seen to this day.
following the story I am joined at the Firepit by folklorist Dr Delyth Badder the Author of " The Folklore of Wales - Ghosts" and Writer and Garden Designer Melanie Hick the Author of Gathering Garden Ghosts on Substack. Together we discuss White Lady Spirits and similar hauntings and their possible meanings and significance in Folklore.
Finally, I perform a guided meditation based on the White Lady written to help you relax at the end of the podcast.

What an absolute pleasure it was today to sit in the company of the wonderful Richard Felix, the star of Most Haunted and the Great British Ghost Tour. He is one of the most recognisable names in the world of the paranormal and a truly lovely man.
Richard and I chat about his career, including his time on Most Haunted and his ownership of Derby Gaol, amongst other things. Owen then tells Richard's favourite ghost story: the haunted Roman legion of York.

In every Town and village, there is one blighted building filled with Legend. Tyn-yr heol in Tonna Neath is just one such place. Sometimes the ghosts we fear are not meant to scare us at all . This is one of those Ghosts .

This week, I'm going back to basics with one of the first stories I ever told on the podcast, which also happens to be the most requested by listeners. The Dragons of Dinas Emrys is the tale that explains the origin of the Welsh flag Y Draig Goch.
This story has been with me since I was a small child and I am proud to share it whenever I get the chance and wherever there is an audience who wants to hear it.
I hope you enjoy.

Today, another fantastic story comes from the area covered by the Lost Peatlands project, at the head of the Afan Valley, which leads into the Rhondda in South Wales. It is a stunning place filled with wonderful tales.
Thomas Davies (1715-1753) known as Y Fferiaid Coch ( The Red Minister ) was a tempestuous man of the cloth who preached in various villages in the area. Stories of his exploits abound and it is said that his ghost still travels the Valley roads to this day . Have a listen as i tell some of his tales .

This week's episode is a good jumping-on episode for new Listeners. The episode starts with an overview of the format and why the podcast started and why it is presented the way it is including details of Owen's own experiences. This weeks story is a fascinating old folktale from the upper Afan Valley and Rhondda area which does feature some animal cruelty.

Michelle and I discuss her interest in stories and the paranormal and some of the incredible experiences she has had during her life. I then tell one of her favourite stories, an amazing ghostly encounter with what could have been the Ghost of Queen Catherine Parr that was reported many years ago.
