Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin specific podcast!
I have taken WAY too much time off but I am back with another episode with the hosts of the National Javelin Summit, Flip Courter and Tyler Rathke
Both guys did not necessarily have a heavy javelin background but have developed a great passion for the event and are putting on an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in javelin
In this episode, I interview them about the details of the event as well as their goals for Missouri javelin as a whole and how the idea came to be
The event is happening February 19th-21st and you can sign up at njs.coachesclinic.com
As always, thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
I kind of broke the top line this week but NOT having a javelin thrower on the podcast, but it was well worth it!
This week I spoke to Lauryn Williams who is the ONLY American woman to medal in both the summer and winter Olympics
She was a sprinter turned bobsled athlete who now works as a financial advisor and helps young professionals organize their finances
I figured that, as javelin throwers, we can all benefit from learning how to be smart with our money to keep us throwing as long as possible!
If you liked this interview and want to learn more about Lauryn and Worth Winning, you can check out her website worth-winning.com and check out her Instagrams @lauryncwilliams and @worthwinning

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had on Andy White who is one of the top throwers in Canada and had a very interesting journey to get to this point
He was not a highly recruited athlete out of high school, took some time off to work, went to college and developed a ton, had success then did skeleton and ultimately came back to javelin
We love a story about someone finding their way back to javelin! Haha. Andy is an incredibly genuine individual and is someone I have spoken a ton to through DMs. It was a lot of fun getting to know him better and speak to him "face to face"
If you're interested in following more of Andy's journey, you can check him out on Instagram @heyandywhite

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin specific podcast
This week I had on Curtis Thompson who is someone it was challenging to make a title for. It was challenging because of all the amazing accomplishments he has haha
Curtis grew up playing football and other sports and basically stumbled into the javelin one day. He quickly took to it and went on to be a national champion at JavU (Mississippi State) and is now an Olympian
It was very cool to hear the background of how he got to where he is today and I am excited to see him keep throwing bombs!
You can support Curtis on his website curtisthompson.us and check out his Instagram @curt_thompson! Check out my Instagram @throughthepoint_podcast while you're at it! Thanks for listening and enjoy

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast! This week I had on a good friend of mine, Mike Stein
Mike is one of the top high school throwers in the nation and comes from an uncommon javelin state, Iowa
He first reached out to me in the fall of 2019 with some interest in javelin and since then he has progressed like crazy as a thrower
He is now getting attention from numerous division I schools and is graduating high school this year
His story really shows if there is a will, there's a way. His passion for throwing is unmatched
If you're interested in seeing more from him, check out his Instagram @mikesteinthrowing. While you're at it, check mine out @throughthepoint_podcast!

Welcome to the Through the Point podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin specific podcast!
This episode I was fortunate enough to have on Scott Russell who is a 2008 Olympian and holds the Canadian record of 84.81m
His journey was far from easy to get to the point he ultimately reached, including living below the poverty line and near retiring in 2005 when he was convinced by an older couple to continue his career
Scott (him, not me) is an amazing dude and I loved every second of this interview!
Check him out on Instagram @5ringsphotography and check mine out @throughthepoint_podcast while you're at it!
As always, thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had on (again) Kara Winger who is a good friend of the show
We talked about her coming off her 2021 Olympic season post ACL tear and how she reacted to the results she achieved
She was remarkably consistent but as any athlete knows, you always want more from yourself
She also discusses her plans for her last season and how it felt to be named flag bearer for the USA in the closing ceremonies
As always with Kara interviews, this one was fun!!
Check her out on Instagram @karathrowsjav and check my page out @throughthepoint_podcast
Thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had a very special guest in NEW American record holder Maggie Malone
Maggie has had such an amazing career and accomplished so many things but in this interview she also discusses some of the behind the scenes struggles she faced in between those successes
She had such an amazing year this year throwing 67.40 at Jav Fest, making the finals at the Olympics, and being so consistent
I truly think this is one of the best interviews so far because there were so many good pieces of information while also having many laughs along the way
Thank you again to Maggie for coming on!! You can check her out on Instagram @maggietheaggie and while you're at it check mine out @throughthepoint_podcast

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world’s #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had on newly earned Olympic Finalist Mackenzie Little
Mackenzie competed for the Australian Olympic team and finished 8th after coming in seeded 30th
One thing I admire about her career is her ability to show up when it counts on the big stage
We talked about what she feels contributes to that as well as her career as a whole and the road to Tokyo!
She has an outstanding attitude and perspective and I think that is something every thrower (and person can learn from)
If you’re interested in following her, check her Instagram out @kenzielittle22 and while you’re at it check out my page @throughthepoint_podcast!
As always, thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin specific podcast!
India is the talk of the javelin world now after Neeraj Chopra's amazing gold medal, so who better to talk to than the founder of Indian Javelin!
Michael Musselman is from Peru but has been involved with promoting javelin in India and developing some of their amazing young talents. It was really cool to hear how someone from across the world could make such a big impact in our amazing sport
I really enjoyed hearing his story and it also got me motivated to keep pushing my training!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had on recent Penn State Alum and a good friend of mine, Mark Porter
Mark went from being a try out to 2x All-American and Olympic trials qualifier throwing just under 74m
He also is in a unique situation where he will now be attending the University of Florida and is pursuing a plant science PHD with a focus in strawberry breeding
Really awesome dude and really awesome interview! A lot can be learned from this one so check it out!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin specific podcast!
This week I had on Marc Minichello who had the furthest throw out of any American college athlete this year. However, he had an interesting situation because he decided to go compete on his own this season due to Ivy League regulations
Marc then finished 4th at the Olympic Trials and had the furthest throw in the qualifying round
He is an outstanding thrower and super smart individual who provided a ton of insight on how he has gotten to the level he is at
Thanks again Marc for coming on!!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This week I had on a huge Through the Point supporter and old friend, Jake Degenshein
Jake was a thrower at the University of Lynchburg and just recently transitioned into a GA/coaching position there
He had many ups and downs in his career including a number of tough injuries so his story has many lessons
We also dug into the value of being a Division 3 athlete and how that may be the right decision for many people
If you want to follow him on social media, you can check out his personal @deggg_dotcom or at his team page @lynchburgthrows
Thanks so much for coming on Jake, it was a ton of fun!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
This episode I had on one of the most athletic people I've ever spoken to, Chantae McMillan
You could tell how passionate she is about staying active and being competitive in everything she does
She went to the 2012 Olympics as a heptathlete but has recently converted to focusing solely on the javelin (the best event in my opinion ;))
It was cool to hear about the transition and also how she balances being a mother and an extremely high level athlete
Thanks so much for taking the time Chantae and you are always welcome on!
Check out her Instagram @chan_taemac. While you're at it, check mine out @throughthepoint_podcast!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 (and only) javelin-specific podcast!
Today I had on Barry Krammes who wears many hats in the javelin community
He graduated as a 2x All-American from East Stroudsburg University and had thrown about 65m. However, just 3 years later he had the furthest throw at the 2008 Olympic trials
After his throwing career finished, he continued to coach and created the Javelin Factory which creates opportunities for throwers to get quality training
He also is heavily involved with the American Jav Fest which is coming up in a couple weeks
If you want to follow him on Instagram, check him out @the_javelin_factory and check out my Instagram @throughthepoint_podcast
As allows, thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 javelin podcast!
This week the tables were turned as Mizzou All-American javelin thrower Sophia Rivera flips the script and interviews me, Scott Fuchs
I am the normal host of the podcast so it was really cool and fun to have it the other way
Sophia did a great job as a first-time host and asked a bunch of good questions
For those new to the podcast, I just had a season that was better than I could have imagined (72.12m PR, Olympic Trials, NCAA Finalist and All-American)
I appreciate every word of support I received throughout the season and all the requests to hear more about my story
If you want to follow Sophia, her Instagram is @javelingirl and @mizzoujavelin and my podcast page is @throughthepoint_podcast and my javelin page is @scottfuchs.jav

Welcome to the Through the Point Podcast, the world's #1 javelin specific podcast
I'm still in Eugene so I used cheap headphones to record this introduction so bare with me
Cyrus had a great idea to take over the podcast and do an episode which 1. was really really good and 2. helped me out during the season haha
The episode features all 3 of the US Men's javelin team who were at the 2012 Olympics: Craig Kinsley, Cyrus Hostetler, and Sean Furey
There are a ton of hilarious moments but also such valuable takeaways about competing on the big stage. I'm biased but I do highly recommend listening to this one all the way through!!

Welcome BACK to the Through the Point Podcast after a long hiatus
It has been a super busy semester with me graduating and also competing but I am so happy to have another interview for you all
This one was so fun because it was a week or two reunion for myself and Bennett Inoff of Texas and Logan Wolfley of Kansas State
Logan was the Big 12 Champ after throwing 73.08m for a PR and K-State school record while Bennett took 6th after crossing the 60m barrier for the first time ever!
We all had great competitions and a ton of fun hanging out. We also had very different journeys to get to this point so it was really cool to see the paths that brought us together
Bennett's Instagram is @binoff and Logan's is @logan_wolfley if you want to check them out! Mine is throughthepoint_podcast while you're at it (;
As always, thanks for listening and enjoy!

Welcome back for another edition of the Thrower of the Week!
I was sidelined for a while due to getting COVID so I, unfortunately, missed some great throws 2 weeks ago.
However, I did get on an INCREDIBLY well-deserved thrower this week.
I had on Brett Thompson who is the #2 thrower in DII in the NCAA and is near the top across all levels
He started the season at 68m and has now thrown 76.65 for a new school record. INSANE
I had a quick, fun talk with him about how he has made that progress and how he bounced back from Tommy John in 2018
Check him out on Instagram @bto5 and check out my page @throughthepoint_podcast
Welcome to the second edition of the Thrower of the Week Podcast series!
I kept it short again with about a 12 minute interview with Marie-Therese Obst
She is a thrower from the University of Georgia who just moved into the top 5 all-time for NCAA Women's javelin
She threw 61.28m at the FSU Relays which built off her outstanding meet #1 performance!
Check out what she was working on and what she needs to improve as I follow up with her!
Her Instagram is @mt_obst so check her out to follow up with how she does this season
