Will Smith hit the game-winning home run in the 11th inning of Game 7, after his 73 innings behind the plate were the most by any catcher in World Series history. There was also the Kiké Hernández alert double play to end Game 6, with a throw that was expertly scooped at second base by Miguel Rojas for the final out of the game. Rojas then hit the game-tying home run in the ninth inning of Game 7 to send the series finale into extras. The Dodgers are the first MLB team to win consecutive titles since the New York Yankees in 1998-2000.
