015 Max Campbell: Sailing Across the Atlantic & Wild Swimming
Max Campbell is a sailor and surfer from Cornwall who left his hometown of Falmouth at the age of 20 on a 22 ft wooden boat named Flying Cloud. Over the next two years, he sailed single-handed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, and back again to the UK the following year. Since then, along with a group of close friends, he has restored the 37 ft yacht, Elixir. Max is planning to sail around the world, surfing, and sharing the sailing experience with as many people as he goes. Max is currently in Colombia, travelling west to transit the Panama Canal. 011 Aaron Rolph: Ski Touring the Haute Route in 31 Hours
Aaron Rolph recounts his recent solo attempt to ski the Haute route non-stop which he completed in one self-propelled, sleepless push in only 31 hours! The route from Chamonix to Zermatt is usually skied over a week and covers a distance of 125km and climbing almost 8,000m in ascent. In doing so, he became the first person in the world to complete the popular Verbier route in a single push, proving that "normal skiers" can achieve the extraordinary if they just set their mind to it. Emily Scott grew up in the Northern Irish countryside and moved to London after university, where she began to realise just how strong the pull of the mountains was. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Emily left the city and pursued a totally different lifestyle, and has since become a ski instructor and a mountain leader. In summer 2018, Emily climbed all 282 of Scotland’s munros (mountains over 3,000ft) travelling between them by bike in a 120 day self-powered solo expedition. Britain's fastest snowboarder, Jamie Barrow, shares his story of overcoming a career-breaking injury and how he chose a new path in breaking snowboarding speed records. After a serious snowboard accident whilst competing in a Snowboard Cross event in 2013 Jamie was forced to leave the British team due to a bad back injury. Despite doctors advising Jamie to give up snowboarding, he was determined to not only snowboard again but to challenge himself further. 001 Maria Leijerstam Edy: First Person to Cycle to the South Pole
In 2013 Maria Leijerstam Edy became the first person in the world to cycle to the South Pole from the edge of the Antarctic continent. Maria started her expedition on the Ross Ice Shelf at the edge of the Antarctic continent, and cycled for 10 to 17 hours each day with no rest days. Without intent, she also set the World Record for the fastest human powered coast to pole traverse, completing the journey in 10 days, 14 hours and 56 minutes. Maria takes us on a journey through her extreme adventures, and the planning, training and creativity that went into breaking these incredible records.
