US trying to seduce Asim Munir to get troops to hold up Pax Americana in Middle East. It won’t work.
Ever since Field Marshal Asim Munir’s White House lunch, many in India are fearing the United States is tilting towards Pakistan. That isn’t true. Even as it develops its relationship with India, Trump hopes Munir will be able to supply cheap troops to garrison the expensive ring of bases that today protect the Middle East. That would save Trump billions, but the Field Marshal knows it would open his country to the poisonous political tides of the Middle East—Praveen Swami in Security Code.

EyeOnChina: Japan is stepping back from NATO, not Indo-Pacific ties—China is watching the cracks closely
China has long criticised the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, or NATO, for drawing Indo-Pacific countries—Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand—into its orbit. From Beijing’s perspective, this marks a troubling effort to export Western military influence to Asia and to contain China’s rise. On the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, a post framed Japan’s engagement with NATO as part of an inflated narrative of China's threat.----more----Read full article here: https://theprint.in/opinion/eye-on-china/japan-nato-not-indo-pacific-ties-china-us/2669010/
