What does it take to organize a film?

Throughout history the black male’s leadership has been scrutinized and sabotaged; but why? Why is society so eager to see him fail?
Why is his representation and authority subjected to unrealistic expectations and detestation?

What is the importance of an HBCU? What makes them significant to the past, present and future?
During the conversation with Dr. Jonathan Solomon we talk about the battles our HBCUs face as well as the stigma that is attached to not only them but to black owned entities in general.

What is a community leader? For this path, how much commitment is necessary regarding both time and resources?
Joining us is the founder of the Saving Our Youth organization of Oklahoma City, OK. They have a program called midnight basketball that is going 24 years strong to date. The program is aimed toward fostering positive actions to stimulate at-risk youth. During the conversation we talk about what it takes to sustain a program this long and not only sustain it but where the motivation originated from. We discuss the beginning of the journey, advice for future community organizers as well as personal testimony from the founder as they take us behind the scenes of it all.

What is the meaning of success?

We discuss the effects of generational trauma, the importance of a safe space when it comes to therapy, the pharmaceutical business, the lack of access to resources and services as well as the pros/cons of higher education in the medical field. The highlight of the episode, in my opinion, is when we brainstormed on what it would take to start our own hospital/dentist office. We brainstormed what it would take to ensure economic independence in this field resulting in our community having long term access to affordable if not free services and resources.
