I bet you can guess the news I'm sharing this week!
This is a short episode, but includes my top 3 tips for buying/selling/moving house...
I bring a break from the planned topics for this season because I want to share what's happening in our lives...
Listen in now!
Where are you looking for your friends? Are you struggling to build healthy, supportive, and lasting friendships?
This "self-care" topic can be considered a touchy one... but should it be?
I am BACK! Season 2 Episodes are officially being recorded, after a hiatus much longer than I intended (but was entirely in God's plan!)
This week I just tell you a little bit about the decisions we made in our home regarding this school year, and a little bit of our thought process behind making those decisions. I do share a couple of specific things we are using, and want to be clear that there is no "affiliate" or "affiliation" involved here, I'm just mentioning them because I am using/enjoying/loving them, and want to share them with you!
For anyone who would like more information, or to stay up-to-date regarding the little girl and her family that I mention in this episode, I'm including a link to their GoFundMe below (this is the only place they are sharing updates, in order to keep it as simple for the family to keep up with as possible):

Join me this week in discussion with Kelly, a Faithful and talented woman married to a Federal Corrections Officer. Kelly and I discuss some of the difficulties specific to her husband's role (and others that carry to all LEO/First Responder/Military roles), their experiences walking down this road together and with their kids, and what works for them to make the most of the moments they have to keep stay connected to each other and their kids.
Next week I'll be going to a little lighter topic of discussion: Jumping into the Fall, our homeschooling experience (so far!), and working through choosing and schedules/activities for our family.
My thoughts after studying Matthew 22 at our church this week. This is probably more of a 'thought stream' episode than anything else, but I hope it helps you in some sort of thought process and is a blessing to you this week.
This is it! The long-awaited (for me anyway!) interview with the lovely Melissa Humes, author of the book we've worked through as a series called A Police Wife Bible Study.
Getting to finally speak to Melissa, and hear her perspective on her book, and LE Family life from her voice/own immediate words was a joy. Grab a cup of tea, or coffee, and listen in to this conversation about Faith, Family, and the importance of Community.
Thank you for joining me on the journey of this series! If you are just discovering us now, please feel free to listen to this episode first, and then purchase the study book and go back to start at the first chapter. I think hearing this conversation, and Melissa's perspective will add even more to the experience of the study!
This week's study is on the struggle of "Single" Parenting, that we often experience with long (sometimes strange!) shifts of overtime and who knows what else in this industry!
Take heart: you do not need to be alone (or feel) alone! We all struggle with this sometimes (and not just us, first responders aren't the only ones that struggle with work-life balance sometimes). It is okay to ask for help! And what is more important: cultivate healthy relationships when you are not struggling, so you know you have people who are safe to share those struggles with when they do arise.
If you have any questions or are struggling to find a healthy home church, please reach out! I'd be happy to share some more information about our own hunt for a new church home after our move last year.
We only have one more chapter in our study after this! Chapter 10, on Resentment, is next! After that, I'll be interviewing the lady of the hour herself: Melissa Humes, who published this book we have been using to deep-dive into scripture these past episodes. Email me with any questions you have thought of, or been wrestling over, that you would like me to ask her during this interview! I'd love to include as many of them as I possibly can.

In this episode, we chat after studying 1 Corinthians 13 for the chapter discussing Marriage.
This is a complex and many-faceted topic; we only scratch the surface! I would encourage you to read Proverbs 31, Titus 2, and other scripture on Biblical Womanhood and scripture discussing marriage in conjunction with 1 Corinthians 13 for a deep dive into this topic.
Next week we discuss and delve into Chapter 9 of the book: A Police Wife Bible Study by Melissa Humes
This week's episode discusses the importance of Integrity. If you haven't gone through the book, which guides and prompts a deeper study of this topic, please do so!
That facilitation will give you a more thorough look into what integrity is, the weight and importance it carries, and the gravity of its role in our lives as Christians.
This discussion is a brief overview and highlight track, if you will, on what jumped out to us as we worked through this week's chapter.
Dictionary definition of Integrity:
1. the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
2. the state of being whole and undivided.
2a. the condition of being unified, unimpaired, or sound in construction.
2b. internal consistency or lack of corruption in electronic data.
Next week we get into Chapter 8, and discuss Marriage.
This week's topic is Jealousy - we study the stories of Cain and Abel, Saul and David, Herod and the infant Jesus, and the Pharisees' interactions with Jesus. We cover a lot of text, but tried to be succinct due to some scheduling constraints we faced this week
We hope you enjoy!

Next week we look at Chapter 7 of our study, on Integrity!
This episode of The Sheepdog Wife Podcast tackles a slightly less difficult topic than previous weeks, but one that heavily impacts the First Responder world all the same.
Everyone will experience Fatigue at some point in their lives: so what can we learn about how to approach this topic from scripture? Join me in chapter 5 of A Police Wife Bible Study, in reading Ecclesiastes 3.1-14.

Next week, in Chapter 6, we look at the topic of Jealousy.
Our third week of the Bible Study authored by Melissa Humes, finds us working through Chapter 3 of the book, on the topic of Harassment.
Tune in as we discuss this extremely difficult topic from a perspective in Acts 16.
In this episode, we discuss Fear, what it can look like, who it impacts, and some practical application steps to work on conquering it. We hope that this episode will be a real encouragement for those walking through these feelings. That said, by nature this topic is sensitive, because we do discuss what *could* happen, I think what is in this episode is truth that you need to hear in the hard times, but use your discretion to time hearing when it will reach you best.
If you are struggling to conquer your fear or worry, and need someone to talk to, please reach out to us at thesheepdogwife@yahoo.com, or contact us via social media (on Facebook, Instagram, or even TikTok).
Teaser for next week, we will cover Chapter 3, discussing Harassment.
