Episode 75: ". . . we should make a greater effort to be alone so that we might hear what the Holy Spirit tells us. There is so much of the worldly spirit in us: there are so many atmospheric disturbances in our hearts that we cannot hear the Holy Spirit. And if we do not hear Him, we cannot know what He demands of us in concrete situations. All things considered; if we want to prepare ourselves for Pentecost in the spirit of today's Gospel [John 16:5–16], we must learn to listen much better to what the Holy Spirit is saying in our hearts. However, it is not enough to hear Him, we must also learn to obey Him . . ." - Fr. Joseph Kentenich (from "I Go To The Father"

"The practice of the moral life animated by charity gives to the Christian the spiritual freedom of the children of God. He no longer stands before God as a slave, in servile fear, or as a mercenary looking for wages, but as a son responding to the love of him who 'first loved us': 'If we turn away from evil out of fear of punishment, we are in the position of slaves. If we pursue the enticement of wages, . . . we resemble mercenaries. Finally if we obey for the sake of the good itself and out of love for him who commands . . . we are in the position of children.'" - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1828

Episode 69: "Give us the grace to grasp with our hearts the message of each mystery as we hear it in the Rosary, and to form our lives accordingly." – Fr. Joseph Kentenich
///
Tune in to this episode as author and host Julia Monnin* dives deeply into the meaning of some of the words we hear in Fr. Joseph Kentenich's Preparatory Prayer for the "Rosary of God's Instruments" as found in his book Heavenwards.
Rosary of God's Instruments: Preparatory Prayer
Father, help us close the gates of our senses and let bright light stream into our souls. Lead us deeply into the warm radiance of faith and into the mystery of redemption.
We want to quietly accompany the Redeemer as we contemplate his life in the Rosary, united with his strong Mother-Bride whom he has chosen as his helpmate.
Give us the grace to grasp with our hearts the message of each mystery as we hear it in the Rosary, and to form our lives accordingly.
Let us immerse ourselves into the ocean of love which the Rosary allows us to drink in richly, and let the glowing love of Christ and his Mother inflame our weak sacrificial spirit.
Then our lives will soon become a mirror of Christ's being and living here on earth. In him we will go through the world with strength and kindness as an image of Mary bringing blessings to all.
Then you may always use us as instruments in your omnipotent, loving and mighty hands, and form through us, in accordance with your plan, the face of humanity today.
Amen.

Episode 63: "We are now in the month of July, a time when many of you are on vacation, enjoying a well-deserved rest. It is important to reflect on what our faith says about rest: is it merely a time for sleeping, not working, and indulging in delicious food? Rather, it is a time to renew ourselves, to pause, and with our hand on the pulse of time and our personal history, to listen to the heart of God. It is a time to renew ourselves spiritually and physically, to spend more quality time with loved ones. Jesus himself spoke about rest: 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.'" - Fr. Michael Kast (in The Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt Enewsletter, July 2024)

Tune in to this episode as author and host Julia Monnin* ponders this question and invites listeners to do the same. "Who has believed what we have heard? / And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? / For he grew up before him like a young plant, / and like a root out of dry ground; / he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, / nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. / He was despised and rejected by others; / a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; / and as one from whom others hide their faces / he was despised, and we held him of no account." - Isaiah 53:1–3
