I did some shooting last week, and was disappointed on the average Muzzle Velocity I measured. I used Hodgdon Benchmark powder on a 150gr bullet for my .308 Win. Reloading data from the website says that the max load is 43 gr. with an estimated velocity of 2,752 fps, and minimum charge 39.0gr with an estimated velocity of 2,521 fps for this bullet weight and caliber. For the reloading aspect, I annealed my brass, FL resized and bumped the shoulder .002", trimmed the brass to 2.005" and seated the bullet .020" away from JAM. I decided to come down 2gr from max but got a average of 2,010 fps, I shot 50 rounds, does anyone know what might of happen? Only thing I could think off is that i didn't take into account the COL that the manual says, Hornady manual says maximum 2.700" and hodgdon states 2.800" that's the only measure I didn't take into account since my seating depth was determined by the .020" from JAM.
