Directed by David Fincher and written by Gillian Flynn, who also wrote the novel of the same name, Gone Girl was a box office success and a cultural phenomenon upon its release. While being a genre film that has mass appeal, the film also explores a multitude of different ideas, some of which include the media and how it can be weaponized and marriage.
