Harry and Sanya command the troops of vanilla Chicagoans as the battle continues, unabated by the crushing loss of last week. Tactics are key to any battle but especially when at a numerical disadvantage, and we see a number of moves meant to even the odds for our plucky defenders.
Mab and Winter join the battle with cursed weapons, Greymalkin sends scouting info in a novel new way, Butters earns a dangerous favor, Listen is starborn!, and we learn of a Canadian comedy troupe. Its really a full week!

As the Fomor vanguard nears the castle, Harry and the 'squatch go hunting for huntsmen there is some squishing. Gore abounds enough to satisfy even the most mortbid of readers, but that is just the warm-up.
Thanks to the Major Generous we get the drop on a cabal of necromancers just in time, though this fight is less smooth for team good guy.

We finally make it to Demonreach and Thomas will be safe! Hooray!
Of course, there's a catch: he will have to join the inmates and become a prisoner of Alfred and everything the creepy island has to offer its tenants! Lara takes umbrage but of course, is no match for Harry and his intellectus while the Warden is home, and he hilariously easily slaps down vampire and Valkyrie both.
Murphy again proves it's not all about muscle, Alfred seems to have secrets, and Harry seems pretty chill with his red lightsaber crew. Lyssy gets some cool presents, Josh misquotes Once More With Feeling, and we dig deep as always.

Marcone assumes command of the heaviest hitters this side of the Gates, a dragon goes digging, Mab puts herself back together again, and Harry hustles to get Thomas to the island before the anyone realizes he's missing.
The big action piece this week is a doozy, in overt and subtle ways. Harry and Ebeneezer finally cross staves as they've been threatening to do all novel and it does not disappoint. Our boy knows he is outmatched but takes on the Blackstaff anyway to make sure his brother can remain free--or the next best thing at any rate. Luckily Harry has a Faerie trick up his sleeve to maker sure disaster doesn't strike, though he deals a devastating blow to Ebb with words alone.
We chat Shakespeare and marvel at the newest rendition of a Webber/Rice masterpiece, Lyssy crushed the voices, and we grind on some conspicuous ellipses that lead us down a White Court rabbit hole.

King Corb makes his presence and his character known as he has his minions murder dozens of Einherjar, insult then assault the Queen of Air and Darkness, and finally drop a challenge to anyone willing to stand in their way.
The now not so secret weapon is a Titanic Bronzed goddess named Ethniu with a mysterious and powerful weapon that has already shot through the most powerful wards on offer and shut down the electricity across Chicago.

Cold Case is super depressing, though we get a potentially anvil-sized hint about Molly's future--or, past I guess...grammar hasnt caught up to temporal anomolies yet! Its great to reunite with everyone's favorite West Coast Warder 'Los, and the two main characters save the day then get kissy time! What could possibly go wrong?!

This week, Harry gets knocked down, but can't get up again, and searing pain and fatigue look like they're forever gonna keep him down. So Dr. Butters decides to save the day. He too gets knocked down--by Denarians--but he gets up again...you're never gonna keep Sir Butters down (ooh-ooh-ooh).
The conclusion is incredibly satisfying, with moments of terror, laughter, glee, and delight abounding. We learn who REALLY planned this heist plan, get a peek into what makes Goodman Grey so powerful, and divvy up the loot!
And in a very uncomfortable place--like the back of a Volkswagen, but in this case a hospital bed--Harry and Murph finally cross the Rubicon.
